Why not have difficulty levels for night market too, so we can all enjoy our game ?

Im very suspicious of those that can solo the night market cos i have done vet group content and this place in on a whole other level. Anyway, without actual proof from posters on these forums it's just heresay. I sense huge disappointment in our community cos so many cant participate and trust me i have seen peeps trying and drop dead.

My suggestion is to please have some different levels of difficilty as with overlands...this will allow more players new and vet to participate and enjoy the night market.
I just got my partner to come back to eso and after trying out the night market he logged out of eso and said ; " what's the point of playing a game that is chaging in this direction? ( where you need to play in large groups). It seems similar to trying to find vet trials group.

@ZOS_Kevin please consider us players that sub to eso and want to be able to participate in all eso content. This is genuinely too hard for many of us but we want to be a part of it and enjoy it, not be locked out of certain content.

It does seem a bit weird that they are adding challenge difficulty so that elite players can enjoy easier content, and solo dungeons so that casual players can enjoy harder content, and generally making ESO more accessible...

And then the big flagship event of the year, replacing new dungeons and new zones, is tailored to the top 1% of players?

Please put the Eyevea/EarthForge wayshrines back on the map?

Well said. I don't understand why lock out so many new players that are still levelling and trying to learn the game and lock out many of us vet players that enjoy groups but not such huge groups that are difficult to put together and extremely time consuming for an event that will eventually expire for a time.

I never ever said to take it away...i said why not make it like overlands where there will be different levels of difficulty. You can go spend all your time killing endless adds/mobs on hard mode no problem but let us that dont want the hardmode type content to not be excluded.

If you enjoy it im happy for you

I haven't explored too much yet, but at least the trash groups and the Calamitous Duneripper were doable without preparation. It was fun enough, but I'll have to explore more to make a definitive statement. Difficulty was probably comparable to a Harrowstorm or a Dragon so far.

Just use the Group Finder, there are tons of 12-player groups. I’ve been running PUGs for hours and we’ve already killed everything, it’s super easy. It’s not like a veteran trial, you’re just not used to it. Group up and you’ll see how easy it is. If you try to run group content solo, of course it will feel hard. It isn’t.

Note: Still, I’d rather have one trial and two new dungeons with a new quest zone if this event is replacing an expansion.

It's not for the top 1%. I spent 5.5 hours there last night with a ragtag group of players mostly running pvp builds, and none of us being pve kings and we did just fine. No voice comms, no stacking buff sets etc.
The difficulty is fine, its a group zone.

Sometimes i genuinely wonder what the devs think when they read this. And i mean behind the professional cover, what they personally(/and cannot say in public) think when people say some overland group content is for the top 1%.

Night market was revealed, marketed, tested, and released as a group zone. Think Craglorn but 2026.

    Is night market hard?
For a casual solo player that never touched group content or has read the tooltip of his gear? Yes, very hard, i'd go as far as to say impossible, this is probably why the story of the zone is very lacking, this is the players most involved in it

For a casual player that dabbles in group content/guilds here and there? Arguable, he has the skills and knowledge to look up a pale order build and slug through night market by himself, albeit very slow, but he will choose to join a zerg most likely

For a casual player that has a guild/friends/knows how to use the groupfinder/discord? No, the difficulty borders on trivial

Please notice i did not talk about the numbers the above hypothetical players can pull on a dummy parse and instead i talked about their general playstyle

Its really a group thing. And most importantly a group structure thing. Even if you're not super familiar with it or a new player, its doable. You will have the best success with 2 tanks, 2 healers and whatever dps you can find. Just a normal group structure, cp and crazy amount of dps is a non issue. I was in there today with people of all different levels of power, cp, skill, you name it. Its meant to be challenging. I dont believe that it is designed only for the top echelon of players or that it is the hardest content in the game either. Give it a chance, try a couple different groups and you will start to get the hang of it

    It's group content.

Solo is tough, but doable if you are used to soloing content that is not meant to be soloed.

In a full group it's almost trivial.

If you want it to be easier and play as it was meant to be played, group up.

Cleared pretty much every single boss as a 4 man team 1t 1h 2dd, played at late hours, so we never got any help, some of the 30 mill bosses could put up a fight, but all of them went down, at one point we aggroed both rocksa the warped and lady narmkoor or whatever she called in skittering precinct, 2x 30 mill bosses, we still killed them.

The bosses at 9mill hp was no challenge at all

With a full 12 man group this place is very trivial if u know how to play

This can be done with a pug. Depending on the quality of the pug, the skirmishes can be very difficult to impossible. Bring a friend that’s a good tank. Not some cheese doodle with a staff and a taunt they slapped on five minutes ago, a real tank.

I'm curious why people keep thinking this is the flagship content of this year. This year is different. There is no flagship. That left with chapters. This is the center of this season. Next season the centerpiece is solo questing and exploration. So don't worry. You're not forgotten about. ESO isn't all of a sudden dark souls. They're trying different stuff each season. I think it'd be cool if it had a normal and vet mode though. Our raid team split in 2 was steamrolling the zones. And a bunch of solo players did exactly what the devs suggested. They followed us and helped. We destroyed all 3 districts and I know we got many solo players all bosses and skirmishes. It's just something you have to tackle different if you wanna get the full experience, because it's group content.

If all content, every single update is not exactly what you want, remember to complain. How dare they do a wide variety of content.

I, too, have spend several hours trying out NM in different 12 person groups from group finder. My experience is completely different.

To start, there were NOT tons of them, there were maybe 2 or 3 at best. At times it took quite a while to fill up all places even though we asked in zone and guild chat as well as in groupfinder.

Even at a full 12 players, it was hard. I went on my Necro healer and spend hours healing and ressurecting my ass of. If I stopped healing for even 2 or 3 seconds, half of the group, including myself, died. I had no time to do or explain any mechanics, let alone do any puzzles of interact with quest objectives. I had no fun, and was exhaused at the end of the run.

The best of these groups just managed to finish 1 skirmish. The next group was whiped over and over again till we gave up, The third and last group was struggling till the zone's main monsster wandered into the Skirmish when we were in the last fase, which ruined our run.

I don't know about veteran trials, but both normal trials and most vet dungeons are easier by far.

For my trouble I got 2 pieces of Plague Doctor in useless traits, a lead and about 200 favor. Whooptiehoo.

    My point exactly.

I am doing HM Vet DLC content forever in this game. This is completely another level higher.

This is Craglorn 2 during during the May 2014 resistance/penetration bug. Or been Level 50 visiting VR14 zone. That's how it feels.

Tried several characters and the only ones that can move along in Night Market zones are the PVP ones. Both the Ice Warden and the DK (fully PVP builds) are the only toons had no problem last night in that zone.

All PVE toons suffered, even those having for 3 man vet DLC dungeons for helping guild mates if need something done.

Is different thing to do HM vet Trial, while having the option to do the normal one, and completely different to have 2 months long event that is totally gated to the 99% OF THE PAYING BASE.

Yesterday peak hours average was roughly 14k players (peaked at 17k, lowest around 12k). On PCEU I saw the favour rise from practically 0 to 6M in 4 hours. Roughly 1.5M per hour. I would estimate that probably something like 300 favours could be the average hourly favour. But let's be generous. Let's say 500 per hour. And let's assume PCNA did roughly the same.

That would be (1.5M+1.5M)/500=6000. So conservatively, I would guesstimate on average 6000 players were doing NM. From 14k average players, that would be ~43%.

I am no mathematician, but I think 43% is a bigger number than 1%.

And even if from those who actively play, only 1% goes there, still... 6000 players on average per hour, that's a lot of players. And they seem to enjoy it. It's great that also they get some content.

Right? I think trying to get a wide variety is best, since they're not doing chapters anymore. This idea that night market is the Marquee thing for this year is strange. Maybe it's because I play other MMOs with seasons and I'm used to it. But lots of folks will get the thing that interests them this year. It's just seasonal now. So many people were cheering the death of chapters. Praising the wisdom of a battle pass and seasons. Too formulaic they said, too many zones. This is what you were cheering. (Not you who I'm responding to, just in general the attitude around here in January)

I went in last night with a pure warden with a fairly old build. I haven't played her in PvE for ages. I still managed to have fun in the NM and get things done. So IMO, this is not above the level of "normal players", but it absolutely isn't "easy" content because it's designed for group play.

I ended up staying back from the bosses and keeping HOTs/buffs/pots active on myself as much as I could, as my girl was in light armour and a bit squishier than I'd intended. Ranged AOE damage worked well for me, with some ranged ST skills for the bosses.

I'd suggest players have invis potions and slot a good self-heal and one that also heals others around you. If you're in a random group you can't rely on having a dedicated healer, so cross-healing makes sense to me. The green CP tree stealth points for help sneaking around trash packs too. Also, try to rez dead players. I know it's easy to get a rez and fly down again, but I saw a lot of players just stay dead and nobody rezzed them. It makes sense to get them up so they help kill stuff. Be ready to block or roll dodge away from trouble.

The reward boxes felt a bit stingy, but that takes away the pressure to grind quests :)

If you think following a zerg of players makes you top 1 percent youre sadly mistaken. If you are having a hard time, I would suggest using a group finder or wait til the evening when populations are at peak, and follow a group.

Top 1% of players can do the content without said zergs of players, but you definitely dont need that much skill to complete this. You can use any basic arena build and follow people around and get through all of it. Normal difficulty arena build, mind you.
