Your post shows you know nothing about the community on consoles.

yeah seem pretty random complaints as if you can categorize players this way... I am super happy about crossplay - the more people you have to play with the higher the likelihood the game will attract new players and do well.

We will discover the truth soon enough.
Crossplay has been announced and ZOS will not change direction at this point.

Afaik earliest will be next year...

    I play on pc.
I think populations would be similar regardless of platform and would follow a normal distribution so, out of every 100 or so players, most will be just fine with good and bad moments when they play but nothing extreme. And there will be 1 or 2 who may not be nice most of the time or not-nice weird and need to be ignored or avoided. But there would also be 1 or 2 players who would be really nice most of the time, would help a lot and would be respectful of everyone else.

I think it'll just take time for everyone to sort through the new players to find others with similar styles of play.

I am worried that they will merge servers, though, and make eu and na a single server. That would suck for me because I have bought dlc and chapters and extra character slots for both servers and like to play on whichever one I feel like, depending on my free time.

I mean AI is some sort of PC, so possibly it speaks for himself in this post.

It really feels like a waste of time to discuss with this.

Such a weird "us vs them" issue. "Them folks yonder ain't like us, we shouldn't be mixin'. It ain't right." *cracks open a light beer*

Have faith in people. Habits, in general, will equalise. Smaller niche interest groups will still remain. Like minded people will still find like minded company. The "immigrants" will not destroy the game.

Wait, so are people implying that AI was used to help write this post or that someone just AI run wild? I could honestly believe either.

As another dual platform player I have to say this was the most terrible take I've had the privilege to read. I've been on PC since launch, and created an Xbox account to play with friends I made from Stadia when that went down. As others have said there's good and bad on both platforms but these broad sweeping generalizations about "console peasants" are just that.

I personally know a lot of console players who are really good therefore all console players are really good, and my opinion on this is obviously correct and not at all biased by my personal experience.

How does that not go in any direction? That applies to all platforms, all anyone can go off of is their own personal experience.

This post perfectly describes why console gamers can't respect PC players. I don't even know how this post is still up when it's blatant harassment.

Lots of people have commented about how far from the truth those assumptions are, so all I'll add to it is I agree with @msgeek that there's a lot of console refugees arrived on PC because of bans and because they made themselves so unpopular with their toxic behaviour that starting again was better.

But your arguments ignore a really big factor.

Console players won't just be dumped in to PC servers penniless and homeless. We'll already have our own guilds and won't suddenly be looking at flooding yours.

Sure, there'll be some swapping around from hardcore traders wanting guilds in the best spots, but generally our guilds are communities and we aren't automatically going to want to leave them just because there's more about.

Right? OP in here groaning about console “invading” PC. Maybe console doesn’t want PC “invading” us either? We’re all getting locked in the same room together regardless eventually. LOL

I can appreciate the surprise. I'll tell you a secret. I'm kind of an idiot lol. I try not to be upset when I'm wrong, just laugh about it. I have a wife and a teenage daughter so I find out that I'm wrong often.

I've raided with a lot of console transfers. I haven't met a problematic or entitled one yet. I'm not saying they don't exist. I'm sure they do, but this sounds more like a toxic person issue than a platform issue.

You can't just "trust me bro" your way into organized endgame, so I don't think entitled console raiders will ever be a major issue especially in organized guilds and servers where even PC players have to prove their clears and capabilities.

It only takes one disruptive player to ruin a trial or event. Enough of that and players stop joining groups, which leaves only the people who enjoy disruption.

That's what the kick and ban button is for. If you want to save your guild and runs from that, use it. We all have this option, and I think that's enough to solve a lot of toxicity concerns.

The PC community can absorb a slow and steady influx of console players without much disruption. The culture adjusts and the impact stays manageable. The concern is scale. Thousands of players arriving at once almost guarantees a major cultural shock, and the PC environment is not built to absorb that volume of high friction behavior all at the same time.

I tried to read your post objectively until the quoted portion.

Clearly you are biased, and while you tried to keep it mostly from your post; it's clear.
The fact you are presenting this as "The PC Community can absorb a slow and steady influx of console players" tells me all I need to know. It could easily have been "The Console Community can absorb a slow and steady influx of PC players"

Your stance is this: Console players are peasants, and the riff-raff of tamriel.
Your veiled bias and clear agenda has been brought into the light.

For your information I can type just fine on the Black Widow keyboard plugged into my PS5.
So, console players will be able to trash talk with the best of PC players.

I'm really glad someone pointed this out, Lillybit and the others.

I nearly pointed it out a day or two ago, but then pulled back because I didn't know the relative populations. Terms like "absorb" and "players arriving" are completely dependent on which population is larger. Do we actually know? But this thread hit the "console peasant" vibe much harder than anything else recently.

I think console players are going to get a much harsher deal than PC players, simply because of the inflation on PC. What is more money than I could ever spend on PS will be a pittance on a cross-play platform. There's no way console trading guilds, for instance, will be able to compete for the first X amount of time. (X = months? Years? I dunno.)

Having said all that, the economics are my one big worry. Before consoles got add-ons, I was really worried about the advantages add-ons would give PC players in trials and dungeons. I still think that's true, since the add-on variety PC has is so much wider, but it worries me less now.

So my opinion has been shifting. I'm not thrilled with it, but I acknowledge that in 2026 cross-platform is pretty much a requirement of multi-player games, and I think things like dungeon queues will improve.

But the Wrothgar Extinction Event would have been so much worse on a cross-platform Nirn!*

Just dont be surprised if you cant get your favorite trader. There is a LOT of gold in the PC servers. And there is a year or more for those guilds to prepare. Unless zos changes something when crossplay goes live. A lot lf console trading guilds probably wont be able to get traders.
