I have recently begun the long journey into collecting all the Antiquities in IA. I have been farming for a week now solid and have had a few drops not a ton. 3 Mythic Lead drops and 4 Jewelry station drop the Fossil Slug drop, the Light Diffuser (small) and the Petrified watcher. I also completed the Templar outfit and have now started getting style pages for characters I cannot use but still can collect, i guess. I have not had a duplicate yet as I like to dig them up when I get them BUT I just read that digging them up gives you a chance to get a duplicate IS THIS TRUE?? I am terrified now to dig up these leads as I am not sure if they are curated and it's going to take me months to get them all.

Thank you to anyone who has the answer. The good news I have yet to get a duplicate but have stopped digging them up.

TIA

Elder Smitter.

    1. If the antiquity is a part of the multy-part item, you can dig it up and then get no duplicate lead until the whole multipart thing being collected.
    2. If the antiquity is a single piece item (like an eye furniture etc), you can get the repeated lead quite next run after you dug it out.

For the lead farming, I got many of them from mini-game chests (mysterious portals). So please do not ignore them, if you run for the leads.

Great thank you. So, 1 piece antiquity sets I will not farm just multi and then leave the last one to avoid getting them again while I farm the others.

Seems like leads only drop from "bonus" sources and the Tho'at chest, none of the arc rewards. So mini games, marauders, and the scamp. I've noticed odds are far higher in the mini game portals though.

As previously mentioned, Leads in IA can only drop from the unknown portal chest, the chest after defeating Tho At (or whatever his exact name is), Marauder or that goblin which randomly spawn during boss fight.
And when it comes to Mythic Leads, you can dig up any out of 5 without a problem; the next one will be the 4th or 5th one you’re missing for that Mythic.
With 1 Lead items, however, after digging up a Lead, you can drop the same one again—even if you have 3/3 on one item and 0/3 on another, you can still drop the one you have 3/3 on in the codex; it’s not curated, after all...

And if I can give you some advice, when I was farm a 3/3 codex on IA Antiquities, it paid off for me to just run first Arc over and over. I did the first Arc for about 10–15 minutes (depending on luck with verses and visions), then reset and started over. So 15 minutes(somethimes less) and a total of 3 chests from which you can get a Lead (2x Unknown Portal Chest, 1x final chest), so roughly every 5 minutes = a chance for a Lead.(I'm not counting the goblin because you don't see it very often in Arc 1...)
If you’re only going for a 1/3 codex, that’s relatively ok and easy, but if you want 3/3, get ready to spend a lot of time in IA.

I've recently started to do the same. While I was collecting the 1st codex I dug them all up as I went along and didn't get a single repeat until they had all dropped once. Now I'm getting them more randomly and some are 3/3 and others are still at 1.

Either I was really, really lucky or there's some sort of curation going on for the 1st one. I know with treasure map leads they made the 1st drop quicker, so it could just be something like that

Lucky probably. For me, it took months to complete my first clothier station. But then then 2nd and 3rd I completed within a couple weeks of getting the 1st. Jewelry station took very little time (comparatively speaking) to complete them all. But that's likely because by then I had more characters built for IA so I could cherry pick the toon with the best lead RNG for the day farm for them.
