Legitimate Gripes about Vengeance (in my opinion)

I’m still three pages behind in General Discussion, so I don’t know if anyone has mentioned this yet. I want to post about it while I am still thinking about it.

1. Change to how repair kits work on doors

You still have only one repair kit but it can be used an infinite number of times. Before it worked like kits in normal campaigns where you do a short animation and stand up, then you can repair again. Now your character stays crouched and stuck in the animation for the entire time it takes to repair the door to 100%. This is a really bad change. I never repair without keeping all of my buffs up and keeping a Revealing Flare up constantly. You are rolling out the red flag for bombers.

2. Keeps stay flagged for a long time

Every Vengeance campaign before this one had only one improvement - the keeps unflagged almost immediately after the battle was over. Now it stays flagged for about as long as it does in Gray Host campaign.

3. Siege Shield cannot be seen after initial cast animation

I reported this last Vengeance campaign but it is still bugged.

4. Revealing Flare cannot be seen after initial cast animation and has no timer on the skill bar

I reported this last Vengeance campaign and it is still bugged.

Funnily enough your point 1 is actually one of the few things I like about Vengeance. You can still cancel it to drop a flare.

Yes, I think this is a nice improvement. If combat is going on, it stands to reason we shouldn't really be repairing walls.

    Bombers in Vengeance?

I haven’t seen any bombers, maybe there aren’t any. I still see plenty of nightblades hitting cloak or people just using invisibility potions, they still could attack you.

There are plenty of times I am repairing while there is still combat, like when we are trying to get the doors up during a siege. You hit a repair, then reapply a buff or hit a flare, then repair again. It takes a second or two to get out of the constant animation and in Gray Host you would be dead. Are you a PvP regular or a PvE person new to Cyrodiil?

    EDIT: clarification

I was also asking because back when No-Proc Cyrodiil happened, I managed to get bombed while repairing the keep door at Sejanus.
Crazy respect for the bomber who pulled that off without needing to be carried by Vicious Death.

I actually love the change to repairing, why would you want to click more times than needed. Once a full time vengeance campaign goes live, I would like to know how they plan to address harvesting. Will the green CP tree be enabled? It is hard to tell what live will be like, but during the current test you only get one resource per harvest. That feels bad man.

Maybe Blackreach will be needed still, as the CP option without the congestion of Greyhost.

ye, I'm ok with the repairs.

    It's the things like
the insane fall damage (my main's a wood elf, owwww),
only getting one resource when harvesting (feels bad man), yes, it's PVP. I'm usually waiting on a delve boss when harvesting)
not being able to hit a resource on your own (the honor guards are hard enough without being nerfed all crazy like we are in vengeance).
so, so slow. so very very slow (this one's why I never go into the no cp campaigns)

mostly the little side things that are annoying me.
  • LadyOuttaTime
ye bombers, that's not a thing in vengeance.
there's gonna be a lotta people got comfy with stacking on each other. Gonna be a bomber field day when things go back to normal.

I gotta say, though. I've had some very enjoyable 1v1s

I am one of the last who play PvP from all of my Guilds. And I have been playing since day 1. Perhaps Zos wants us to be either in combat or repairing walls, not both. The auto repair function is a good one. I wish it was like that in GH as well.

I guess if they keep the continuous repair for Vengeance it wouldn’t be so bad if you guys think it’s good, but if it gets changed in Gray Host that would be very bad. Once Gray Host is back up I won’t be returning to Vengeance. Keeping those flares up saves my character and about a half dozen other players when repairing doors a good percentage of the time. It causes the enemy player to become exposed before they are ready to attack. I could not do that as well when having to break free from the continuous repair animation and the greater lag that Vengeance has. With individual repairs it is easy and natural to just repair, buff, repair, buff, etc.
