Amidst the class reworks and the never-ending debate about PETs, I’ve come to the conclusion that it would be brilliant to create a summoning system.
What it would include:
- Summoning Animals and Nature Spirits
- Summoning Spirits and Daedric Creatures
- Summoning Dwarven Constructs
Take the concept from the old Spellcrafting system and the new Scribing system.
From the
old system, retain the search for creatures and their essences, so that summoning can be performed in the future and parameters can be set for the role the creature will fulfil:
- Basic
- Ultimate
- Temporary
- AOE (Area of Effect)
- Enduring
- Ritual
From the
new system, take the idea of prescribing the effects of this creature, thereby allowing its nature to be altered depending on the skill. (However, this idea will need further refinement, and such variability may not be permitted for all creatures)
When casting a summoning spell, create a rune on the ground when the summoned creature appears.
But it is important to have some kind of balance, the summoned creatures must live for 1 or 2 minutes.
It is also worth creating a tree of passive skills.

Specifically regarding pets, I think we need a separate system rather than skill styles. We could also add a class-specific ability or passive skill that grants certain class-based bonuses to summoned creatures.
Every time I hear people suggesting we simply add a skill style, I ask myself –
“Are you serious? Slapping a Fire Atronach skin onto a Scamp – what’s that going to achieve? Where’s the variety? That’s not a solution.”

It seems to me that anyone would like to summon a fire atronach or any other creature that does not just change the appearance of your skill, but completely corresponds to the theme and causes appropriate damage by its nature.
P.S:
I’d also like to note that I don’t see the point in adding new classes; in my opinion, skill styles can easily make up for this—you just need to add not individual styles, but entire sets corresponding to specific entities, such as Daedra, gods, or a single seasonal theme.
For example:
- The “Nocturnel” pack for all classes
- Green for all classes, and so on.
