So, my friend and I are discussing this right now — why are there hundreds of different lamps in Tamriel, but only two bathtubs? And why isn't the Chamber Pot Throne available for purchase yet? What about other models? Or any at all?
Please, let the people of Tamriel have a little more comfort in the bathroom!

It's funny, in many MMOs with housing, the bathroom isn't thought about. My ships and houses in swtor many years ago, no bathroom. ESO has no bathroom. In fallout 76, they started releasing bathroom items and I was awe struck. Such a simple thing, a shower, a toilet and a sink to place as you please. Yes it's a more modern setting, meaning it's very obvious when your build is missing it, and the world has tons of bathrooms but these poor citizens of Tamriel. Maybe this explains all the cults and trouble. The 3 banners war, because the white gold tower has a bathroom.

In the Late Middle Ages, chair-like constructions with a chamber pot underneath did exist. So I don't see why something like that should not exist in ESO. Let alone lots of the things we see in game are not actually medieval.

They can look at old toilets and stuff too if they don't want to give us too many things like the chamber pot thrones.

Thanks. Saw it on some random blog post about ancient toilets but didn't think to double check it. I'll edit it out. I think this one's better. Google says this one is not ai it at any rate.

Toilets yes, but it's the missing bathhouse and sweat lodges that is really noticeable.

The nords would have had the saunas/sweat lodges like the cold countries do irl, there'd be bath houses heated by the steam/ water off the volcanoes... etc etc....

Most games I've played haven't had bathrooms, which has always seemed odd. When I first played Starfield I was shocked when I found bathrooms and showers all over the place. I thought that was a cool touch of realism that most games don't have.

Did npcs react if you entered the wrong one? I know in the Deus Ex games they did (surprising for players who explored all rooms in every location out of habit).

A sarcophagus without a lid makes a nice bathtub. The single Alinor fountain behind it at one end works well as a water source. This same sarcophagus standing on end makes a great shower cabinet.

I've put bathrooms in a lot of my houses but only put a toilet in one, and that was for comedic value. I just don't think of my characters as doing their bodily functions in their houses.

Fallout 76 has had toilets and sinks for years. The shower is fairly new, but I've had a complete bathroom in my Diner camp for several years. It's more of a modern/real life setting though, so it's not entirely surprising when ESO doesn't have toilets, there's no plumbing I've seen besides the Dwemer building parts.
