I will pour all the thoughts I have had on ESO's crafting into this post.

Change hireling timers from 24/12 hours to 20 hours and include two chests in one mail for 3/3 perk. Why? For the same reason horse feeding timers are set at 20 hours.
- Tempers gained by refining raw materials
To reward committed crafters and discourage this particular gold farming method, change the drop chance for tempers as follows:
The chance of different tier tempers dropping depends on the factors "Profession Level" (1-50), "Extraction Perk" (1-3) and "Raw Material Tier" (1-9).
All factors maxed, the drop chances per 10-stack are: T1 (Honing Stone/Hemming/Pitch) - 90% T2 - 30% T3 - 10% T4 - 5%
All factors at minimum (for a non-crafter): T1 - 5% T2, T3, T4 - 0.01%
Each factor's chance scales evenly from min to max and their average chance is applied. E.g. a skilled Blacksmith with PL 50 and EP 3 would, on average, get 9 Honing stones from a 100-stack Voidsteel, but only 6 from Iron Ore (PL 50 = 90%, EP 3 = 90%, RMT 1 = 5%)
All percentages are made up. They're rough estimates, based on what I've seen so far. The actual percentages applied for maxed factors would be today's values, maybe slightly higher. Also, the factors' chances could be weighted differently, but that would get too complicated for a suggestion.
I believe this would also alleviate the jute-bot problem.
- DIY Repairs
This has been requested multiple times and I agree. A blacksmith/Tailor/Carpenter should be able to repair his own gear, using the same material the item is made of.
- Crafting Chain
When crafting multiple items, especially when making hundreds of food items or potions, it gets really tiresome to sit there and mash R for an hour. I read somewhere the devs wanted crafting an item to always feel special and active. Well, this may hold true if you're crafting two chest plates. Not so much when you're making 500 healing potions.
Let us type 500 into a little box, hit R and go have dinner or something. Make it take twice as long as hitting R with perfect timing, if you must.
- Splitting Stacks
Let us
type a 1-99 number, instead of having to click "-" or "+" 49 times if we want a 50-stack.
Fishing: Related Post
- Enable chatting, opening inventory, or just using UI elements while fishing.
- Make rare fish lootable and give them a value around 100G for greens ans 500G for blues.
- Include fish in Provisioning/Alchemy recipes.
Provisioning:
- Enhance tool tips of crafted food items and, more importantly, cooking materials to show their cultural heritage and possibly rarity/tier.
- Add the correct cooking material loot tables to VR areas.
Woodworking:
- Furniture for player houses
Since Woodworking currently only has half the craftables blacksmithing and tailoring have, adding furniture for player houses - which I'm hoping will be added someday, because hey, enjoyable money sink! - would be a perfect fit, don't you think?
I might add more thoughts in the future, as they come to me.
