When is a Delve Boss Not a Delve Boss?

When It's a tamriel tome "Kill 100 Bosses" quest of course. Yes, even though it says delve bosses and more, clearly there are terms and conditions to which delve/public dungeon or other bosses you can actually kill to get the point. Also since when were guards in Cyrodiil, bosses, or do shielded enemies count in this?

✭✭✭✭✭As far as I know it has always been enemies that have the big red bar over them with the fancy finials, if that is what a shielded bar is.
Any elite (not a regular mob or add) and delve, public dungeon, and group dungeon bosses have those, so do guards in Cyrodiil.
