Sorcerer with 222k… come on, is no one going to stop this nonsense?
Just give me overland difficulty so I can play ESO and avoid the ridiculous, meaningless numbers ZoS is turning this game into.

Anyway… good parse, Charles!

Uhh... you do realize that it is still the first week of PTS, which means there is still rebalancing coming, right?

    U50 isn't dropping until June.

LOL and the folks over on the PTS forums are trying to get werewolf nerfed instead. Irony is bitter...
    Hoping for more playable races.

I just want werewolf to be viable in endgame PvE T.T (which not allowed according to PTS update 50)

the other thing to consider is that sorcs are notorious for cheesing dummy parses

half of the stuff some people use for dummy parses doesnt work well in normal content

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (fully filled out with current game), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

in progress: acquiring mundus stones (currently only have the thief)

feel free to stop by and use the facilities

This, and the vast majority of players will never hit numbers that high, so posting a top tier DPS as an example of "nonsense" is a pretty skewed viewpoint.

A better question to ask is, how high will ZOS allow damage to go and for what purpose? Is it to make raids easier for casuals or...? What's the point with all this power creep? Personally, I don't care because it makes trials more accessible for those who wouldn't otherwise be able to clear vets, but I do wonder just how high ZOS is going to let damage go or is there going to be a rug pull like always and the nerf hammer drops.

Balance by potential. Everything else leads to problems.

    It will get adjusted.

My other understanding is this is a parse that is not usable in content. Someone else can speak better to that, though.

if today zos give oaken a big buff can hit 500k at dummy, but in 90% real content combat still suck because you every heavy attack need cast 15-30 sec,are you still think it a buff?

    Dummy ~= Content

Please don't make me have to explain why that matters.

My prediction is it will hit very high numbers when it goes live (perhaps not as high as pts though), then ZOS will nerf it. That’s the usual approach. Something will be incredibly OP for one patch, making clears easier for people who happen to jump on that latest trend, then the nerf will make clearing content harder again. It’s fascinating how some content in ESO becomes harder to clear if you don’t do it during a certain patch.

If anything it shows how strong the new mythic is. Status effects going crazy.
Monolith only works and here because hugging static target.
Maybe Static reverberation will be tuned, but sorc needs all the love it can get.

As others have said, most people will never hit this. I only do 40-50k on a dummy with my mage blade healer, and in RNDs, I'm still top of the group for DPS while also healing. Go figure.

These ultra high parses will only work for 0.1% of the ESO population. The rest of us will continue grubbing about with much much lower numbers.

i don't think so,in group content ,the class set only 1 player can run(mobs only can got 1hit from this set every sec),Power Overload nobody use at real content,so this can't like dk/necro class set be a meta
if we not ignore the class set and power overload not good at real content fact,it just a other normal high cpm build can hit 160-170+ at dummy
solo content this gear is suck, because stat not good for solo and you need don't move and stand parse15-30+sec to open proc
it like old patch highland sentine, only good at dummy cheese build or 3 trial boss like dummy(etc:vss/vka ,you better never move 5 min and be a parse monkey)

I doubt many will achieve that in real content. If they do, finally the arcanist beam will have a less annoying replacement.

If ZOS don't like it they'll make some changes. But I'm not going to panic when someone very good at parsing shows a really high parse. I'm more interested in what normal mortal players are able to achieve in actual content. If that's overtuned then I'd expect ZOS will try and adjust it.

Good riddance to the Arcanist/Nightblade monopoly. Thats a good start!

Honestly, they shouldn't be introducing new mythics into the game until they've gotten some kind of semblance of balance. And finished the character reworks. This is going to be a big issue if they dont start putting limitations on dps. There are armor caps and every other thing, why not damage?

Like, you do realize these VERY high numbers are max cheese parses? Like, they're not optimal for actual content, and parse monkeys often have to learn that the hard way. The enemy isn't going to be static and always have that perfect Maelstrom greatsword setup. Mechanics happen. The trial dummy is just what COULD happen, not what will happen.

I know that and I also know what will and won’t happen.
    • ZoS will nerf some sets, that part is guaranteed.
    • What won’t happen is actual balance in the game.

Because balance is completely out of control, and for ZoS balancing basically means nerfing a few sets while making others overpowered. And then, at the same time, they release new items that instantly unbalance the balance they were supposedly trying to balance, creating even more unbalanced balance that needs more balancing, which then gets unbalanced again by the next wave of ‘balance’ items. It’s just an endless loop of balancing the unbalance with new unbalanced balance meant to fix the previous balance that unbalanced the balance before it.

Welcome to ESO, where balance gets balanced by unbalancing the balance with new balance that unbalances everything all over again.
