Is dual wield pretty much useless in Veteran ranks?

Far from it. I barely take damage against 3-man groups or bosses due to high damage and almost unlimited stun.

Depends on how you like to play. The active skills were mostly useless for me since lvl1 the passives were always nice until my I changed to S&B at VR6 .

Well this is thanks to class skills. DW in itself is pretty meh, as all weapon/stamina based skills. Stamina scale horribly late game. You need to go for magica builds in VR ranks. Especially as a nightblade! Class is pretty much broken/underpowered at this point.

I'm a VR2 nightblade that had to respec from stamina so I could even play VR content... ^^
