Weekly challenges are...

It's a fine amount in my opinion. I can do the whole week in a day. If you don't have time to spend that much time in one go you have a week to do it.

What bothers me though is the difference in points per challenge. Just make it the same total amount of points for everyone. Now I'm rerolling because killing a world boss 5 times would give me 5x90 (450) points compared to doing 3 battlegrounds for 3x120 (360) points. Why not just make it the same?

They aren't all that different from the usual "pick three" daily endeavors or "pick one" weeklies. I think the reroll system still needs work, but the stuff they're asking for isn't out of line with what we've been seeing for years.

they are completely different from the '' pick 3 "

With the Pick 3 you did 3 and you were done for the day

With the Seasons most tasks take 5 or 6 repeats to be done with a single category.

And with the weekly, Endeavors had stuff like ' craft 50 of any items' = 250 seals really time consuming stuff

With the Seasons, kill 1000 overland enemies from a limited group of zones. ..... How tough could that be? Knock that out in like 6 or 7 minutes, right?

I don't care. I earn Tome points faster than I can spend them and rarely look at tasks anyway. If I do look at them and see one I fancy, then I may fit it in with my evening in the game, or I may not bother.

It depends on your psychology. I understand that some people feel they have to do their dailies, tasks etc and this is how their mind works. As this is just a game and not at all important for actual living, I may suggest to these people that playing a game that feeds their psychology to the point that it causes stress may consider not playing the game and doing something more constructive.

For everyone like me who never bothers with dailies and just plays what they feel like, it makes little difference. The game has got a whole lot cheaper for me now, we don't have to pay for DLCs and Chapters, and everything we can buy is just cosmetic junk.

I just wish we had a better variety like the endeavors. Collecting cloth or enchants, and then doing it over and over 6x is boring. And, we don't have 20 challenges to choose from.

As far as the 1,000 overland beasts, was able to knock that one out in 3 days in Wrothgar with some World Bosses. And, that was with 100 players present!

Before, there was 1 Weekly Endeavor, now there are 5 Weekly Challenges (with repeats), plus several "monthly". Yes, they can be carried over, but the total limit of 12 basically means that you in fact only have 1 additional week to complete them.

Before, you had a clear choice with equal rewards. Now, you only have random rerolls with the risk of losing points.

Yes, we also had daily endeavors before. But all of them combined could count for maybe 1 additional "weekly", not 4. And there were alot of "mundane" tasks such as changing outfits, reading books, placing furniture, playing emotes, selling items, etc. Now all I can see so far is grindfest, either with mobs or resources.

    So yes - too tasking.

Second week challenges done. I finished what ZOS RNG gave me without having to use a reroll. I think it took about two hours of play time. Waiting for a public dungeon boss in Cold Harbour to respawn for the five repeats took five minutes for each repeat, so about 25 minutes including the time it took me to get to the boss the first time from the nearby wayshrine. Collecting rune stones and collecting ore challenges took longer running around a starter island, and I would not do those tasks without having HarvestMap add-on on my PS5. Killing dangerous foes challenge ended up getting done while doing a normal trial with other folks in guild who needed to do that trial for some reason.

Separately the seasonal challenge of killing 1000 foes got done in a few hours the first day. Totally by luck I found a place I could walk around in Wrothgarr southeast of Merchant's Gate wayshrine that had multiple enemies that kept respawning almost as fast as I could walk around and kill them.

No idea what I'm going to spend the tomes I am getting. If I decide later that I don't need them, I may stop doing the challenges. Not there yet.

Having to repeat the same mindless task over and over is boring. So very boring. The previous endevours were more interesting or at least quicker. I don't like the new system.

I play to *not* be bored.

I agree, I was never one to religiously complete endeavors, but on the whole they were much faster and incidental to my gameplay than the new challenges. This system has eradicated any remnants I had of FOMO mentality with collectables, if they are behind content I enjoy playing then that's great, but I don't find this constant carrot-chasing fun or engaging.

I find that they’re not open-ended enough, and too repetitive, to be enjoyable. What I appreciated about Endeavors was that they often overlapped with the activities I was currently enjoying in the game.

The weekly Challenges have so far only taken me away from the things I enjoy in the game. I can see they’ll rarely even overlap with the more boring chores I’m already doing, since the Challenges are so specific.

The saving grace is that there are more rewards overall from the Tome; since this system is replacing Endeavors, I mostly just want the Seals, and it seems I only have to unlock about half the pages to earn the same number of Seals as I would have from Endeavors.

So I’ll probably just aim to unlock half the pages. I think doing all the weeklies would take too much time away from the things I find fun in ESO and make me start to dislike the game.

Too grindy, maybe better if the zone killing wasn't bugged to not allow delves, dungeons, or maelstrom.

I do surveys every day after daily crafting...but this is so much MORE harvesting than I need.

I miss the endeavors I could do in just a few mins, easy peasy...this is so much more tasking.

I'm another one who was never strict about always doing the endeavours (on days when I was online anyway I'd look at the list, decide if there's anything I want to do and if so do only those, and if not skip it entirely) and I'm doing the same with tome challenges but even so I agree that they're more tedious.

To be clear: they are not difficult. I'm not saying there's anything in the list I can't do, just that it takes longer than endeavours used to. Especially since we just needed to pick 1 weekly endeavour instead of doing all of them.

I can see myself skipping a lot more of these for being tedious and boring than I did with the endeavours, which often felt quite quick to finish and could sometimes prompt me to do things I hadn't done for a while.

I haven't really bothered with the weekly this week and I can get it to later. Same with the seasonal, I can get to it when they fix it. If they don't, I can decide later whether or not it's worth doing. Before when I didn't want or have time to do the weekly I was just "Sorry out of luck." I really like that.

I find some are just a bit boring and repetitive, and could be improved by just adding some variety. For example, make it so you can gather any resources instead of one specific one, then we aren't stuck gathering something we have plenty of.

With specific bosses, maybe add more to the list. World bosses could be any of the bosses in a given area instead of just two, as that'd be a fun challenge if you haven't done that area with an alt yet.

My newbie is happy running specific dungeons as she's still doing the quests, but it would have been much better had she been able to do 5 different dungeons per challenge and have some genuine variety. That might have made for a fun guild activity too if we could group up and do that challenge together.

I do find the challenges are harder to do without specifically looking at the list and planning activities around them, but I'd be happy just with the sorts of variety I've mentioned above. I get bored really easily and just that wee bit of variety would make the challenges genuinely useful for my newbie/alts.

Has anyone else gotten double challenges? Somehow I have two "mine ore 15 times" and they are out of sync with one another.

I have had double challenges both weeks. They never got out of sync. Not sure what would even cause that unless you rerolled one after you had already started the other.

I had that with wood, but I found it very practical, because completing one task always meant completing two immediately.

I've completed all this week new challenges in 1 hour. It's really little compared to the time i play so more engagment in the new system would be welcome.
Give players that want to grind something to do.

And yes, there are new players and players with little time but the opposite is also true and i feel Zenimax at times tends to forget it.

I really don’t enjoy being told how to play or what I need to do in order to unlock battle pass items. Points really need to be awarded for XP, simply playing the game, and challenges reward specific points as well. Not sure why ZOS chose to force people to task through the pass, majority of battle pass games do not do this.

I doubt I ever actually buy the Tome if the only way to complete it is challenges that force me into content I don’t want to play.

Last night I killed the same world boss 5 times in a row with about 20 other people. This is not good gameplay.

Wouldn't that re-roll all of them? I've never re-rolled, unless I did it accidentally and didn't notice. My two challenges are one off from each other.

This is too much. The new tasks are comparable to the old Endeavors—only now there are even more of them. Gathering resources and killing five bosses at a time isn't fun at all. There is no actual gameplay involved.

If you had a different one like do 3 battlegrounds, and you had harvested one for the original harvesting when you re-rolled the battleground to the second harvesting that could cause it. I'm not saying that's what you did; I'm just saying that's the only way I could see them being off from each other.

Yea sounds like you started one before you got the dublicate.
I've had a few and I even had "open 1 treasure chest" triple challenge which was fun ;D

But yea, my tactic is going to be to have at least 10 challenges available before starting to do them and get as many same ones as possible
