I don't even understand how to buy Tamriel Tomes on Steam

The payment on this is really unclear for people on steam

If I'm on steam, where do I buy this? There's nothing on steam for Tamriel Tomes to buy.

Am I supposed to buy it in game? If so, what payment method is it going to try to draw on? Can I put one different from the one on my steam account?

Or do I have to be put through the inconvenience of switching my primary payment method on steam then switching back again?

If I'm on steam, can I just get it on the ESO website...?

This is so confusing and inconvenient, that I'm really thinking of just giving up and not buying it at all, because the payment is unclear. I liked it better when I could just go to the steam store and buy an upgrade.

If you're referring to the premium tomes, then you have to buy them through the Tamriel Tomes page in the main game menu. Click on the "Upgrade..." button on the first actual page.

There is another thread lamenting that you can't buy them through any of the platform stores or ESO website.

I'm on Steam and after a while, it popped the purchase page up. But the only payment it was accepting was Steam Wallet. I decided not to purchase at this time.

I'm also on steam, and nothing even happens when I click the buttons on the UI in game to purchase xD No pop up taking me to a payment method, nothing.

I don't have any UI add-ons, so it's nothing on my end. I was going to buy myself the $14 version today to celebrate Easter, but I guess I'll have to wait. I'm as confused as you are, believe me!

This was what happened for me too. I have a payment method on Steam and I don't use my steam wallet, I just charge my card when I make a purchase. I'm really not at all interested in putting money in my steam wallet, which will always be more than what I'm actually planning to spend.

The purchase price of the premium tome cannot be added to my steam wallet, only $20 can. So essentially this is raising the price of the tome to $20 for me. Sure maybe I'll spend the remaining funds on something else in the future, but it's also possible I may not. Steam gets my money either way. No thanks

I don't get why the process of purchasing the tomes had to be changed compared to eso plus / DLC / crowns, and has been made overly convoluted

Steam lets you add the exact amount for the purchase in question, at least in the UK it does.

Hmm that's interesting... I couldn't find a way to do this (from the US), but I could have missed something, I will dig a little deeper. But it still adds steps beyond just making a normal purchase and charging my card the normal way. I still don't get why they've made it over-complicated.

    Same boat, friend.

When I clicked the in-game UI all it did was error, LMAO. Again, no add-ons.

This is such a bizarre impediment. People literally want to give ZOS their money but they have made it so absurdly convoluted to do so. This situation will cost them tons of sales unless they manage to make it more straightforward.

It seems silly that ZOS will be losing money simply because people cannot buy the battle tome pass because the payment methods are so limited and weirdly set up but so far they have refused to respond to any questions why it’s set up this way.
