bounties for players

It would be really immersive if you could add a bounty system for players so that players can hunt them
It should only be for very high bounties though. Maybe like 10k and you CANNOT pay a fee to remove the bounty. This would mean that only people who want to be hunted can be hunted.

idk I think this would improve the system alot.

That would still mean people who do not want to be hunted get hunted,
unless there is an actual toggle for Overland PvP.

sure but 10k is pretty high and there should be a message or a warning if you are close to this. Maybe even more than 10k idk,

regardless of how high the Bounty is, some people can reach it and they will still not want to PvP.

i am not against this kind of feature, if it also adds a toggle for Overland PvP

Only if there is a toggle that is set to NO by default. I had such bounty multiple times when I was going for the Felonious Recompense achievement.

With an active justice system, an alternate idea could be for players to be (VoS) Vigilants of Stendarr, and uphold the law in cities and settlements.

Guards could then be killable, as an option.

VoS could have skills that buff guards, or toggle lawbreakers to assist take downs.

No, thieving is a part of the game.

I would never opt in to gameplay like this. How many players would? Someday I plan to get the achievement for that huge bounty.

i lost track how many times i seen this suggested, and i would agree with others that it would be a terrible idea for the current game

if it was an opt in system, i doubt anyone would bother, and if it was mandatory, it would alienate the playerbase who doesnt like pvp

The original justice system was going to have pvp in it. That ship sailed to "no" a long time ago :(.
-First-Wave Closed Beta Tester of the Psijic Order, aka the 0.016 percent.
Exploits suck. Don't blame just the game, blame the players abusing them!

-Playing since July 2013, back when we had a killspam channel in Cyrodiil and the lands of Tamriel were roamed by dinosaurs.

-In-game mains abound with "Nerf" in their name. As I am asked occasionally, I do not play on anything but the PC NA Megaserver at this time.

So if you read this many times you don't think the there is a demand?

People who don't want this just don't get a bounty for like 100k for murdering npc. It's pretty simple

The whole point of this to make the justice system actual meaningful in at less some way. It would also help make the world more immersive and since ZOS wants to do more expermental stuff I don't see why they can't add this at least for testing, if enough people complain ( I don't mean only people on the forums) they can remove it again

People want to do the hunting, like you, but no one wants to be the hunted. That’s basically it. The hunter has no stake in it and nothing to lose. Yet the hunted has everything to lose.

    EDIT: typo

If people want some sort of opt-in overland pvp, I personally don't think it would be popular with a lot of the playerbase and would be a waste of resources, but if zos can be convinced, so be it.

Ten thousand times no to any system of forced or otherwise non-consensual pvp outside of pvp areas. Pvp is an unbalanced mess in its current state, is not widely popular among a large portion of the current playerbase, and requires significant preparation and totally different builds that pve players engaging in thieving are not likely to be using.

Beyond that, for the folks who *want* to pvp, having to do pve and rack up a bounty before they could do so (and then wander around all bountied-up, trying to actually find someone who wants to play bounty-hunter) would be nothing more than an annoyance.

For folks who don't want to pvp, they would have to carefully limit their thieving activities to avoid becoming a target.

    Lose lose.

[Edit: and the point in the post above mine is important - the hunters in such a system risk nothing, and can sit back in safety waiting for an easy target to wander by. The risk must be present for all who choose to opt-in to such a system.].

like others said, there is only demand for those who want the pvp

the vast majority of people who are engaging with the current justice system dont want to be hunted down by other players, there is no fun in that, no reward for that

if they did an opt in system, i would expect less than 1% of the population would even enable the pvp, and then you would be right back here complaining that you still couldnt find anyone to hunt down

and like i said, if they did not make an opt in system, it would seriously alienate the playerbase to the point they would start hemorrhaging players as it would make almost all of the thieves guild and dark brotherhood content basically impossible to complete

It would not be PvP though. A thieving build is not meant for combat. Its primary goal is evasion.
