I am dissapointed. I have been a player from the beginning. Have also an ESO subscription from the beginning. Bought all the DLC's,. And now they are free for all players. I do not see that the eso subscription will give me anything worthwhile and also I do not get anything back for the money I have spent it what others now get for free.
I Understand a game needs to change with time to still excist, and I do not say that the changes are bad, but I feel as a long time supporter of the game I now been cheated on. I do not know if i will be keep playing this because of this feeling. Maybe others can change my mind?

If Chapters had been selling well, we'd still have chapters.
If last year's season had sold well, we'd get the same this year.
If ZOS thought that they could get way more ESO+ subscribers by putting all of this on ESO+; they would have.

To be honest, I think ESO is heading towards become a F2P game where players just pay for whatever goodies that interest them.

That wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing for an older game. I mean, look at DCUO, which came out around the same time as ESO, and they are F2P and is still considered Daybreak Games highest grossing games- even with less than 1000 active monthly players. Why? Because of the store and people constantly spending money on it. Sure, they pretty much went full on P2W, but their PvP element died long ago- so it's been mostly PvE-focused for years. They still get new content, events, etc... but have a smaller team working on it.

Let's also consider what's going to happen to ESO once ES6 drops. Let's consider how many have left since Crimson Desert dropped a couple weeks ago. ESO needs to start working on preparing the game for having less players, and it seems like that's what they're doing. Their development team has already been reduced, so they need to start focusing on ways to increase revenue in preparation for the day that population drops significantly.
    CP: 2130 ** ESO+ ** ~~ ***** Strictly a solo PvE quester *****
    ~~Started Playing: May 2015 | Stopped Playing: July 2025 | Returned: March 2026~~

I can only imagine why chapters stopped selling well...

Gold Road was the last chapter I bought, but truthfully I could have stopped after experiencing Blackwood and that would have felt right to do. Necrom/GR was my breaking point.

I paid for solstice and now it's free. I do feel very cheated. There doesnt seem to be any compensation at this point in time.

Is it free, though? I thought it just became accessible through ESOplus, like every chapter the year after its release?

Yes, like other chapters before. I payed for every chapter and not been feeled cheated ever lol.

Am.. No, they are NOT all free right now. Only Orsinium (Wrothgar), Thieves Guild, Dark Brotherhood, and Imperial City (IC was long time before) thats all. No other DLCs. On other account I can't go to N.Elsweyr or Summerset or Murkmire without ESO+ or buying it. So no, they are not all free.
    Really sorry for my english

Chapters always eventually went "free" under ESO+. This isn't new and would've happened to Solstice too. ESO is also a paid game just to even play, so even if DLCs get added to ESO unsubbed, they're still not free.

Your advantage over people who didn't buy at release is you got to enjoy the product long before they did.

This is like getting bitter that you bought something at release when it was at its most expensive then that thing later went on sale. This is what happens to every product ever sold, not just video games, but especially in video games.

I agree, and just unsubbed too. I don't play MMOs for dress-up or housing. I want new zones to quest and explore in. And I don't want to save the world from some new baddie either. Create some delves and public dungeons with quests in them. I like exploring the world the most. You gave us a new difficulty setting, but no new quests or places to explore using it. I looked at all the stuff in the stores and saw nothing I wanted. The new night market, once people figure it out, will end up like all the other group content rushing to kill the bosses. I really think they could have done better. Give us some quests in new cities and towns

I stopped at sub gives nothing worth while. Dude the crafting bag alone is worth it. they could probably raise that to like 50$ a month and I would still consider paying just for that feature.

To be honest this expansions specifically - orsinium should never be part of a dlc, since they have skill lines , same goes for the psijic line expansion.

i dont feel cheated about things becoming free like i did MSA weapons change to VMSA and having to re gain them back , or being put on hold for cp then never get anything back out of it , or them adding in add-ons to PSN that do 100+ actions with 0 in put by the player after 11 years of saying anything that does automated actions is an exploit all while knowing PC has had just that since the 1st year with dressing room add-on and now latter with wizards wardrobe on PSN ... i like you have always had ESO+ sub got everything pre-ordered collection addition and have now let ESO+ lapse and not getting pass or whatever they want to label it this time .. them giving the old content out free bugs me not because ( I ) can still use it , if they did like they did with outfit slots and took the use of something ive paid for away id want to see them do the right thing but being old content you paid for is still useable to you takes nothing away from you
