I personally found this information to be a bit confusing myself! But, I think I have it figured out. So, let's examine the pricing!

First things first. Here's a quick 30 second video that shows you which items you can unlock based off your acquired tier. I have the free version of this tome currently. So, if anyone else is able to confirm this video is correct, I'd greatly appreciate. I'm pretty sure that this is right but please let me know if it's not so that I can fix it.

https://youtu.be/uLCHoQiwNwI

In order to unlock these rewards, you must complete challenges. These challenges involve various activities similar to a Golden Pursuit or Endeavor. Only you earn tome points to unlock pages and buy what you want.

Now, here's a list of all the main rewards you can get in the tomes. Note: Many of these are broken up into different pages of the Tome but are part of the same set. Full Disclaimer: I asked AI to help me to do the BBCode because IDK how to do that. It also did the math. So, there may be some minor errors, but I looked over it to try and catch them all. I did all the digging on the rewards, old prices, and other data collection. All speculation is my own opinion that I wrote myself without assistance backed by the data that I was able to find. I just don't know the vanilla forum bbcode formatting well so I had it do that part.

With that out of the way, let's head back to 2025. We cannot make exact comparisons because these are different pricing models with different goals. That being said, we're still customers trying to understand the value of our hard-earned money on the game. So, I will do my best to compare the three different tome tiers to the old model. I will also have to work with the price that I personally paid to prepurchase the content pass upgrade, as I do not remember the full pricing model or discounts, and couldn't find that information on Google. So your own prices may vary based on what you purchased and where. With that said, I paid 49.99 for it. All prices will be in USD because that's where I'm located and I can only go by the prices I know. If you have more precise prices or want to chime in with prices in your local area, please do!

I'm also going to mostly compare the collectibles as we will have to wait until the end of the year to understand the value of the content pass vs the content being given to us this year. Another point of order is that I'm not counting the stuff that drops from in-game activities such as the other furnishings in the Julianos pack (high isle stuff) or the caltrops style in the Solstice zone. I'm focusing on the collectibles that were somewhat exclusive or least crown store oriented.

Before we do that though, let's look at what we get for the 2025 Content Pass. As far as I could gather from UESP, these were the various rewards that fell into that category.

2025 Content Pass Rewards

Base Rewards-3 total
  • Skulltooth Coastal Durzog mount
  • Golden Eagle pet
  • Remnant of Meridia's Light memento

Writhing Wall Event Rewards - 3 total
  • Wall-Breaker title
  • Coldharbour Dremnaken Runt pet
  • Worm King's Crown Adornment
  • Wormwrithe Bear-Lizard mount

Pre‑Order Rewards- 4 Total
  • 10-Year Lion Guard Steed mount
  • 10-Year Anniversary Mudcrab pet
  • Shell-Tide Beach emote pack
  • Mages Guild Recall customized action
**Grand Total: 10 Collectibles**

And now for a more detailed look at the price matchup
Free Tier vs 2025 Holiday Sale Price

Free Tier on Tome = 0. 00
2025 Holiday Sale Price about 16 dollars (49.99 at a 67% discount).

This one obviously goes to the Tamriel Tome. You get 8 collectibles plus all the year's content for free with the tome. You got the Solstice Zone/dungeons + 3 collectible for the sale price.

Premium Tier vs Writhing Wall Event Price

Premium Tier on Tome = 14.99
2025 Writhing Wall Event Sale Price about 32 dollars (49.99 at a 35% discount)

This one also goes to the Tamriel Tome. You get 20 collectibles + the Content. You got the Solstice Zone/dungeons + 6 collectibles for the sale price.

Premium + Bonuses on Tome vs Pre-Order Price

Premium + Bonuses = 29.99
Pre-Order Price for 2025 Content Pass = 49.99

This one still goes to the Tamriel Tome. You get 21 Collectibles + the Content. You got the Solstice Zone/dungeons + 10 collectibles at full price.

Completionist Tier

The price to get every collectible for the year.

Tamriel Tome x 3 = 89.97
2025 Content Pass = 49.99

This one goes to the content pass. If you're a completionist that really wants to make sure they don't miss out on anything and have all the year's paid collectibles. Current we're looking at 3 passes for 2026. And that will likely increase to 4 passes in 2027 for a total of 119.96. For argument's sake, we'll assume that we'll get the same number of collectibles in each Tome. Obviously, this is just a prediction so it should not be taken as the hard truth. None of us know what's in the upcoming passes. But, we need to be able to estimate things somehow.

Let's Breakdown Completionism Even Further. We'll look at the total price of all tomes vs the content pass. As well as the price per collectible

2025 Content Pass Grand Total Collectibles = 10 Total Collectibles

2025 Content Pass vs. Premium Tome Pricing

TL;DR – What Should You Buy?

If you want a value similar to the 2025 Content Pass…

Overall, the best overall value for this goal is to buy 3 Premium Tomes. Its estimated value is about 10% cheaper than the 2025 Content Pass was and gives you 260% more collectibles. However, currently it seems like we'll be getting a little less content this year. So, if you want to go the cheapest purchase option, while still maintaining a similar level of value as last year, then you can buy 1 Premium+Bonus Tome instead. That will be 40% cheaper but it is only a 30% increase in collectibles. Either of these options are the closest you can get without going over the price of the content pass.

If you want ALL the items from the Tomes for 2026…

You’ll be paying much more overall, but your price per collectible drops a lot. From a pure collectible‑value standpoint, Tamriel Tomes are far cheaper per collectible than the Content Pass ever was.

You missed a very big one in your TLDR:

    - If you don't care about cosmetics and care only about game content or game systems: buy nothing :)

I mentioned that in the detailed breakdown where I attempted to compare the different models vs the sales prices of the content at different life cycles, but I wanted to focus on the pricing of the collectibles on this post as that's the most direct comparison we have until we know more about the content we're getting this year. I'll try to remember to do a retrospective at the end of the year to determine what we got content wise vs previous years.

Note: I fixed an error in the table. I had added the free tier for the previous prices by just grabbing the total. My mistake. This changes it from 1.43 per collectible and 68.5% cheaper down to 2.00 per collectible and 56% cheaper. That is still a lot and doesn't change the conclusion. But I wanted to note that for those who saw the previous totals.

We get 15 paid collectibles and 6 free collectibles per tome for my estimated values. Estimations are based on the current tome. So we should get 18 total freebies this year and 45 paid for a total of 63 collectibles. That's with the assumption that the Tome has the same number of collectibles each time. It could be more or less collectibles in future Tomes, obviously.

    ETA 2:

Oops. Also realized the worm king's crown got duplicated. Table has been updated to reflect the new totals.

    1. I don't understand why you're only comparing pricing on the Prem+bonus and not just premium.
    2. I think you've misunderstood bonus pages. Bonus pages are just additional pages in the tome, that could be numbered 11 or 12 for all we care. They have a free track and premium track and function exactly like the other pages. This is supported by this article https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/news/post/69623
Free rewards you can unlock and acquire from the Tome of Dawn and Dusk include up to 8,000 Seals, 9,000 Trade Bars, six crown crates, and a selection of currencies, consumables, and furnishing boxes.
    These are premium items
    Duo-Dynamo Dungeon Delver Spider
Winterhold Empyrean Wolf Dawn & Dusk Bundle (3 mounts)

    These are free tier items
    Bonus Page: 3 Dwarven Crates
    Bonus Page: 3 Nightfall Crates

This is the only Premium+bonus item
    Bonus Page: Raynor’s Traveling Robes

Premium is for the people who like to spend on assorted cosmetics. Premium+Bonus is for people who value the Robes at $15 and/or just really want the extra tome caches. Those are the only extra things in that tier. These should be compared to people buying crowns for a thing they really want, not to chapter buying.

Yes @spartaxoxo you've mistaken the bonus pages for the premium plus rewards. The premium plus, as the person I quoted said, a costume (Raynours robes) and 2 tome caches. Hopefully you're able to fix the op. It may not be an opinion shared by others but I have counseled folks in my guilds to not buy the 30 dollar pass, because the value for money just isn't there. The 15 dollar pass I'll buy all day. Even the weak cosmetics in it are worth 15 without the other stuff.

While I think the total rewards are pretty tepid, for their very first one I think they did ok. I would hope we're able to give Zos constructive feedback on tomes, their pricing, and especially the UI and rewards.

Thank you for making this video and post though. We need everyone we can, it seems, to help explain this to players. Chats last night in game and discord were full of folks who just don't understand. So every bit helps.

Value is very subjective. I see why you focused on the collectibles, but that is not the reason why I purchased chapters. They were part of the package and I rarely if ever use them. The one thing I wanted, the zone content, is no longer there. You gotta start somewhere for your comparison, though, since there is no zone content yet.

I have been doing the weekly and monthly activities but after looking over the pages, I really don’t see much there that I am interested in. It’s also unfortunate if you are interested in a fairly low cost item that is 4 pages in because of the work you would have to do to get it. So far I don’t know if I will even put much effort into this system for free. I guess that might be good as I can just play as I would without it. Hopefully enough other people will jump on this hamster wheel to keep the game going. The eso+ subscription has more value for me right now, and we have already discussed how much value it has lost.
