The Serpent didn’t count for the challenge, and the gold reroll option isn’t appearing

Basically this: I just did the Sanctum Ophidia trial, and it didn’t count toward the Tome Challenge. On top of that, the latest challenge that appeared was a duplicate (the same Sanctum Ophidia one), and the gold reroll option isn’t showing up.

You have 0 rerolls left, that's why you can't reroll. The little dice under the calendar icon on the left in screenshot.

Sucks to hear this weekly isn't working, though.

" You may reroll these challenges freely five times each week and pay gold to purchase additional rerolls past that." I only rerolled 5 times.

The gold rerolls didn’t show up for me.

And again: having a challenge appear twice in the list, even though it can only be completed once—and not being able to remove it—is a massive design flaw.

Sorry, I misunderstood what you meant by gold reroll. I don't know how you purchase rerolls for gold maybe it's a bug, maybe it's tucked away in some other interface. Maybe @ZOS_Kevin clarify.

yep, I did the daily quest, everything went fine. I’ll try again later to see if it works. Really strange.

I just completed the Depths of Malatar dungeon and it didn’t count either! I have several challenges that are impossible to complete.

So none of my challenges give as many tome points as yours. Does that mean those will roll around eventually if I complete all of mine, or did I get a *** roll and have to use my rerolls to get higher tome point challenges?

When you complete yours you are done until next batch next week. What you get is all random. There appear to be no checks for the randomness on point values or what you've completed or rerolled or anything else.

Wow. So some people will end up getting way more points totally randomly than others? Is that correct? Seems less than fair.

Hello! Some of you may recall in the Update 49 PTS, we had some incorrect text in the game that indicated you could reroll weekly challenges for gold. This is not an option yet - the plan is for that to go in with Update 50 in June. Non-English language help articles in-game incorrectly states this, and that will be fixed with Update 50 as well.

Regarding the Sanctum Ophidia and Depths of Malatar dungeon weekly challenges not completing as expected, we are aware and investigating (including seeing if there are other cases). Thank you for raising this to us.

Your challenges are probably repeatable. The challenge to defeat the Serpent gives 500 points, but it can only be completed once per week. There are, for example, challenges that grant 90 Tome Points but can be completed five times in a row per week.

Hi Jessica, am I correct in assuming that if I get a poor roll and run out of rerolls to get the highest-paying challenges for the week, I'm basically earning way fewer tokens than someone else who lucked out in rolls?

The seasonal challenges don't make sense, one is over in the first 2 weeks and the other seems to bring back the daily login they've just got rid off to ease the grind. Or am I misunderstanding?

Well that is a bit cursed.

One of the guildies lucked out (or so it seemed the time); three out of five of their challenges were 'kill the serpent' which would have completed in one run... if this challenge worked that is.

Maybe they can fix it before it resets, otherwise is going to be a bit of a rocky start.

    Challenges do not reset.
Next Tuesday you get 5 more, keep these.
The Tuesday after you get 5 more, assuming you completed at least 3. If not you get only enough to the cap of 12. After that your challenges stay the same until you complete some. You can reroll the ones you have if you don't want to complete them, with a limited amount of rerolls per week.
Each tuesday you get up to 5 additional challenges, only as many as needed to get you to the cap of 12.

This is correct. You should try to reroll for 200 challenges. If you have bad luck and get 60 point challenges you basically have to wait until next week or buy more rerolls in the future.

Pretty bizarre system once again compared to other games that do this.

I didn't get the Depths of Malatar to work either, so that one definitely seems a bit wonky.

I also re-rolled and managed to get two of the same challenges. I'm guessing that's not intended! :p

    Thanks for the update @ZOS_JessicaFolsom

I got this challenge in one of my accounts, is this likely to be 'hotfixed' before the weekly challenges reset?

Trying to use my re-rolls judiciously so an answer would be very useful.

There's the challenge, uncompleted, and in the background, there's the Symphony Of Blades, in a heap. No joy. Definitely broken.

Now if only we can draw attention to the pickpocketed Heart's Day items, and how we still can't launder them...

At least with that challenge one can do Lava Queen (haven't tried Molag Kena).

With the SO one well... one is SOL (pun intended)

Challenges do not reset. You will just get 5 more challenges on Tuesday. The cap is 12, so as long as it's fixed within 2 weeks you should be ok.

I had do 1 trial x2. Did a reroll on a different challenge and got another do 1 trial x2. Like really lol. I love trials but how bout some diversity. Also, didn't remember the gold rerolls but to hear them not working sucks.

Yes indeed. Really the way they should do it is every weekly is worth the same points. Then if you reroll you have a chance to get an epic reroll that is worth more. There should no way out the gate that everyone can have wildly different point totals.

    Hotfix incoming: Announcement
    Hello everyone,

We’ve seen reports that a handful of Tamriel Tome Weekly Challenges cannot be completed, which include:
    • Defeat the Symphony of Blades, the Lava Queen, or Molag Kena (note that defeating the Lava Queen does work)
    • Capture an Imperial City District
    • Defeat the Serpent of Sanctum Ophidia

Tomorrow, April 3, we will be publishing a hotfix on all platforms to remove these 3 Challenges from the rotation until they are properly fixed. This hotfix will not require any downtime, and we’ll let everyone know as soon as it’s complete. If you currently have any of these Challenges active, we encourage you to use a Challenge Reroll after the hotfix is live. As a reminder, you will gain 5 additional Challenge Rerolls every Monday, with rerolls capping at 12.

So the hotfix will not remove those challenges from players who have them active and those players will have to spend thei rerolls after the bugfix?
