Premium tokens useless?

Things haven't been very well explained by ZOS, and I'm struggling to make sense of these tomes and tokens. If you have ESO+, you get a premium token for every month you subscribe, since January of this year.. But you can't actually use the tokens until you have 12? And that unlocks the Premium + Bonuses tome, which costs only two months of ESO+? And the premium tome gives you different rewards, but not a better choice of challenges? Absolutely none of this makes any sense to me, can someone who understands please explain.

tokens are spent in groups of 12 yes. You can do nothing with 5 or 8 or 11 tokens. When you get to 12, you can spend 12 to convert a tome to premium.

All the tomes have the same challenges and ways of earning points.
premium and premium plus both allow you to keep working on them past the season, so eventually all could be unlocked.
Premium gives access to unlock a bunch of extra rewards, with points.
premium+ gives the same as premium but comes with what it says there 2 caches of tome points and 1 bonus cosmetic.

According to the posted screen shot there, one should get the wolf mounts and other items display right away when buying the Premium or premium + bonuses or 12 tome tokens.

Thinking of buying the premium to get the three wolf mounts right away.

This is not the experience of someone in another thread, you still have to unlock the page the reward is on and spend the required tome points to get the wolves.

Spending your 12 premium tokens now and not knowing what you could have gotten next season sounds like ZOS decided to go with the Monty Hall paradox.

The correct decision is not to play this game inside a game at all, to paraphrase an old trope.

After seeing how this new season is working out, I won't be renewing my ESO+ sub or buying the premium tome stuff. Of course, I've never really cared about all the cosmetics, flashy skill styles, exploding mounts (or underground elephants??), glowing armor or weapons. Most of them assault my eyes and ears, I feel like I'm back playing Destiny. I think my eyes and ears just got too old and can't deal with the sensory overload.

I still have some chapters and DLC to complete so I'll be playing but I've neglected my single player titles for far too long. I'm looking forward to some quiet RPG titles I have. FYI, I was a big Halo fan and got sucked into Destiny around the time I bought Halo 4, 'twas years before I finished Halo 4. I haven't started Halo 5 or Infinite campaign and I bought both when they came out.

Yeah a little irritated that I needed to do research first before opening all my caches.

Seems now I will probably loose a bunch of those points unless I spend them all somehow which seems I won't be spending them all.

I just wish I had done tons of research, so at the end of the day it's leaving a massive bad taste in my mouth. ZOS obviously comes out ahead but at what price? At some point I will just leave again like I have before. Really wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt this time but things shouldn't always require so much planning.

Yeah, you get the option to buy the premium content if you purchase the premium pass. Not guaranteed. Of course, if you buy it, you also keep it and can unlock things in it forever since it persists after the season ends, but you still have to earn the points and spend them to unlock any of the premium items.

So the Premium Tokens can't be used to upgrade to premium, only to premium plus when you have 12?

That really sucks.

Premium tokens should be usable individually to just upgrade to premium.

Personally, I think the current system lacks polish. The core idea is not bad, but I have some suggestions for the future (for me this first Tome was just a test):

1. Token Flexibility:

- Pick-a-Page: 1 Token = Unlock the Premium path for one specific page of our choice.

Or

- Sequential Unlock: 1 Token = Unlock the next available Premium page (starting from Page 1). Even with only 3 tokens, we should be able to unlock the first 3 pages.

2. Dynamic Pricing & External Stores:

- Dynamic Discounts: If a player uses tokens to unlock pages, the price for the full "Premium" or "Premium + Bonus" upgrade (14.99€ / 29.99€) should decrease automatically based on what is already unlocked.

Or

- Platform Store Access: Sell Tome Token Packs directly on Steam, EGS, and the Web Store (Packs of 6, 12, 24, 36) to bypass the current in-game overlay transaction bugs.

3. Crown Store Integration (Premium Options):

- The Unique Cosmetic (Outfit): Available as a separate limited-time purchase OR only buyable if the player already owns the Premium Tome (otherwise greyed out).

Or

- The "All-in-One" Bundle: Put the "2 Caches + Unique Cosmetic" in a single 2000 Crowns bundle. A clean high-tier option for players who want the unique cosmetic !.

4. Progression Boosters:

- Caches of Tome Points: Add an option to purchase "Caches of Tome Points" using Crowns for players who want to fast-track their progress through the pages.

I know some of these ideas might not be perfect, but I hope they can at least provide some inspiration for future improvements (even a small part of it).
