No Trade bars for eating cake

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills reading these messages. We don't need toggles to control whether trade bars come as currency or as inventory satchels. We don't need "more obvious notifications" for something we've all been doing dozens of times per day for years: looting things. Stop complaining about perfectly reasonable functionality and take some responsibility for paying attention to what's happening when you play the game. Sheesh.

I'm using the LootDrop addon, which wasn't updated for the new currencies yet and I couldn't see the earned trade bars. But it looks like I got them.

I prefer not getting a satchel. I saw the pop up and it's fine.

I don't have ESO+ at the moment and no inventory to spare.

just to say, i received the jester festival trade bars satchel, and i also received the anniversary event cake trade bars, not in a satchel but just directly added to account.

i happened to notice the trade bar message at the bottom right of screen, so if i hadn't, yeah, i might have been annoyed that i didn't have a satchel.

odd that they started these satchels for jester, and odd that they didn't carry that over to the cake

Unfortunately it follows the same inconsistency we had with tickets.

Some events we would get 2 tickets, some 3.
Some events if we would get 2 tickets but already had 11 it would still give us one ticket to max it out.
But other events if we would get 2 tickets and already had 11 it wouldn't give us any tickets until we spent one and needed at least two.
Thankfully with bars we don't have a max so that won't be an issue, but now some events give us tickets in a satchel and some don't.

Just pick one way and make it the same for all events! Please!

Several players liked the idea because then we know for certain that we received them. It would eliminate situations like this from coming up if they were in satchels every time.

Totally agree. I love opening packages, it's a small but not insignificant dopamine hit

Opening gifts is fun when it’s an RNG surprise. I like opening the gold box hoping I get something I want. Opening a satchel with a set currency in it over and over is a waste of time and inventory space.

I would say there's definitely a bug. Like I said, I did my first round of crafting writs before I got the cake this year, and the first writ I turned in didn't reward the Trade Bars, nor did opening the Gold Box. I didn't get my Bars until I used the cake.

This is a problem because people might not do one thing or the other, expecting what they DO do (either turning in a first repeatable Daily or eating cake) will get their Bars, and then they wind up NOT getting them. There is definitely a bug if EITHER activity is supposed to drop the Bars the first time you do them each day.

Only the cake is supposed to drop the bars. The article stating otherwise was wrong.
