Light Armor in general looks horrible

I was so happy today to get my Ancient Elf motif because in the picture its red and black!! I was stoked, and then.....

GREEN?? Really? Ugly green....

I'm sorry but in general, ALL of the light armor looks like crap. There is nothing really that stands out and that is sad.

Pretty disappointed.

Atm it seems the actual color of an item is bound to level and rarity. But dont you worry, colorizing armor is coming soon.

I dont like it too atm. it looks like outta place if you have the same motif but some items green, others blue or purple.

But hey, with some good humor you can get through as a clown ;)

But yea, we will be able to "paint" our armor soon.

    Nice to know.

I have a problem with a few of the armors and their designs. Some may look alright, at least in part, on one of my characters while another is horrid. :)

The Breton was alright, but my Dark Elf was unexpected and I couldn't stand it. These were the race designs that were correct to the character. I will be passing down armors more and more between my characters as I progress, but know now that the Breton was more acceptable than Altmer, and will see if I can stand these changes.

I have also started playing with the other race styles to see how they actually look on different races.

I have gotten used to keeping and wearing the Seadrake disguise on most of my characters as an alternative.

One thing please ... don't blind me with eye burning color clashing designs.

I think the Dunmer light armor look alright, its just the colors of the armor, they are all bad.

I think y'all have it entirely backward. It's medium and heavy armor that looks horrible, in that it is BORING. I'm not questioning ESO's decision to go "realistic" with armor, but it does mean that all the metal armor looks like, well, hunks of metal and all the leather armor looks like leather/mud. At least the light armor sometimes has some actual COLOR in it. (I like the dunmer and khajit designs best - nice blue colors in the 20-30 range.)
I have just told you more than I know.

Best Light Armor at this time I would say is the Dunmer, its got a sleek design with the appearance of armored cloth in the chest, helm, and accessories. The back of the helm even looks like it could be plate. On an alt, I been combining a little Bosmer helm, chest, boots, and legs with Primal shoulders, belt, and gloves; the look is pretty sweet at the lower levels and colors match up when upgraded to blue.

I actually do not mind the armor I have on my two Nightblades.

One is a Dunmer and I have actually had people whisper me how much they liked it and how well it went with my skin color.

The other is my Bosmer and I like that armor the best of all my characters. It also helps that her tattoos are an amazing blend with the armor. That was a nice surprise as I made her tattoos in accord to thought of "melding" with the woods environments.

Those are the only two I did not keep the Seadrake disguise for.

[edit] screenshots, 2. or maybe not.... not :( either unable in edit or ...
