Runeblades Status Effect Proc Rate Appears Incorrect (Using DoT Instead of Direct Damage)

Both morphs of the Arcanist ability Runeblades—Writhing Runeblades and Escalating Runeblades—appear to be using the damage over time (DoT) status effect proc rate instead of the direct damage proc rate.

Details / Testing:
I conducted extensive testing on a target dummy using a large sample size to evaluate the frequency of status effect procs. Based on the ability’s behavior and classification, the observed proc rate is significantly lower than expected for a direct damage ability.

Expected Behavior:
Runeblades should use the direct damage status effect proc rate, which is substantially higher than DoT proc rates.

Observed Behavior:
The ability appears to be applying status effects at a rate consistent with damage over time abilities, resulting in noticeably fewer procs than expected.

Additional Notes:

- When using a Lightning Staff, the ability gains additional direct damage scaling.
- This further reinforces that Runeblades is intended to function as a direct damage ability, not a DoT.
- Despite this, the proc behavior does not align with direct damage mechanics.

Summary:
Runeblades (both morphs) likely have an incorrect status effect proc classification, causing them to use DoT proc rates instead of direct damage rates.

Request:
Please investigate whether the ability is incorrectly flagged for status effect calculations and adjust it to match direct damage proc behavior if this is unintended.

This is also the case on abilities such as Flurry.

For whatever reason, ZOS is terrified by the prospect that these abilities should follow the proper status effect rules that govern every other ability.

    Ok two things:
1.) I think it is actually better that Flurry and Runeblades don't get the full 10 %. 3 % is maybe a bit low, I think 5 % (AoE direct chance) would be a reasonable tradeoff. Especially since they nerfed charged like 3 times since the big buff.
    HOWEVER,
2.) Considering this, it is completely unfair that Crushing Shock is not subject to the same reasoning.

With the new Mythic Coming up, a lot of these old Status-related oddities will return to the spot light, like dual wield getting twice as many glyph procs as any other weapon. This stuff has been brought up more than once, but sadly it was always just ignored.

Isn’t this the same as Jabs and Bound Armaments using a lower chance to proc its status effect to make up for the fact it hits multiple times in a single GCD?

It would clearly have a major advantage over one-hit-per-GCD skills if it had the same chance per hit (with 3-4 chances per cast) as other skills do per cast.
