Display 2 is my default?

Playing on PC, game through Steam.

About 2 weeks ago, my game started opening on display 2 after an update we had. Every time I go in and change it, it just goes back to display 2 when I close and reopen the game. What file do I need to find and tweak to stop this from happening?
If you want to see what all the craftable lights look like in ESO, use this command on PC NA.

Did you confirm which monitor is set as your main monitor in your operating system? You can find this by right clicking your desktop and clicking "Display Settings". Additionally, here is how to change which monitor the game is displaying on in-game.

I will give this a shot and see if this helps.

Do you know if there is a file I can get into to change if this doesn't work?

For a little more info, I have changed from D2 to D1 every day I wanted to play since this happened. Yes, my D1 is my computer's default monitor.

Hi updated my case to a Hyte Y70. Same issue but reverse. My main screen is #2, game defaulted to case screen.
Having the system default that trick will never work.
    1. locate your ESO "Live" folder.
    2. Usually defaults to \documents\Elder Scrolls Online\Live
    3. the file you need is *"UserSettings.txt"
    4. This is the section you need:
    SET PreferMaximizedWindow "1"
    SET PreferExclusiveFullscreen "2"
    SET FULLSCREEN "1"
    SET ACTIVE_DISPLAY "1"
    SET FullscreenHeight "2160"
    SET FullscreenWidth "3840"
    SET WindowedHeight "1080"
    SET WindowedWidth "1280"

The original settings for the primary display.

    SET PreferMaximizedWindow "0"
    SET PreferExclusiveFullscreen "2"
    SET FULLSCREEN "0"
    SET ACTIVE_DISPLAY "0"
    SET FullscreenHeight "2160"
    SET FullscreenWidth "3840"
    SET WindowedHeight "1080"
    SET WindowedWidth "1280"

These are the setting from the HYTE Y70 display:

    SET PreferMaximizedWindow "0"
    SET PreferExclusiveFullscreen "1"
    SET FULLSCREEN "2"
    SET ACTIVE_DISPLAY "0"
    SET FullscreenHeight "2560"
    SET FullscreenWidth "682"
    SET WindowedHeight "2160"
    SET WindowedWidth "3840"

As the game auto configured based on what it thinks was the primary display not what the setting in windows stated.
As you can imagine that display is not optimal for tying to play ESO on.

I know this was posted a long while ago and hope the OP got things going if not I hope this helps info helps.

The numbers for display preference 0 for First monitor, etc. This does not apply to what you think is your primary display is.
*NOTE: this file may be altered by ESO when you log in or exit, you may need to set the file attribute to Read Only to force game not to change it. The game defaulted the settings in this file back to the HYTE display until I made the file read only.
This information may not occur for you as I was trying to trouble shoot. Also make sure ESO and loader are shut down as they may defer the settings back into the file that they have prior to changing them leading to what I experienced IMO.

Should any of the changes made or used above be problematic exit the game or close game and loader using task manager.
I'm still tweaking these settings but now have game on my primary screen.

@giinoz2011rwb17_ESO - do you run dual GPUs in your system?

Oh as a side note. Elder scolls online in game settings has an ability to change the display in the graphics area.

However until I changed the settings in the "UserSettings.txt" file this was not selectable it is a game flaw that I think needs addressing for rigs that use more than one monitor or after game installation extra monitors are added if you want to select which display to use the game on.

It is now selectable, however I'm not going to use it now I have it working.
