Is there a way to pause subscription game time?

jacky0002rwb17_ESO
I am currently using the 60 days game card to subscribe, but i will prefer if i have the option to pause the subscription. the main reason is that i will be on holiday oversea for like 2 weeks. and it is right in the middle of the subscription. so i will have to either not playing at all for the first 1 week + 2 weeks then resume my subscription after 3 weeks or i have to waste 2 weeks in order to play the first week before the break.

  • jacky0002rwb17_ESO
note: using 30days monthly subscription also will just end up i pay for i will have to waste 50% of that month's game time that i purchased. so it doesn't really helps my main problem

No. Subscriptions cannot be suspended. You can have a subscription run out and then not renew it for [x] amount of time. But that's it.

Probably not. Subscription costs aren't high enough to warrant a whole program for suspension/reactivation.

Pretty sure you can suspend your sub in other mmos but that might be dated info.

Eventually some clever game publisher will do the right thing and charge by the minute or, at least by the hour.

IP telephony now charges by the second.

People get sick, go on holiday, have children and all sorts of stuff.

But games subs are 30 days and that is that.

It is 2014, There are no excuses for brutal subs policies. We are buying a service so charge us for what we actually use.

Oh, and give us a SLA with quality measures, too. Unexpected maintenance aside, the EU players are due about a months refund already cos you add over 100ms to our ping by BEING IN THE USA.

Move the server soon please and maybe we will have a game we can play reliably.

Its hardly anything major, 2 weeks gone = £4.50 or 7.50$. I know its not ideal and I would be opposed to a minimum suspention of about 2 weeks, I doubt it will happen.

If it was possible to pause a subscription, all the cheapos would just suspend when they close down the game and restart next day when they play again, rinse and repeat. Come on friend. 1 week subscription is what, £3? Don't want to be offensive but if you are that badly off that £3 a week is a problem for you, then sorry but then, unless you are ill or a victim of some really tragic circumstances, you are doing something terribly wrong, and should be trying to make a better living, not playing.

If $14.99/mth is "brutal" then you may want to rethink your hobbies.

Nope, just like there isn't anyway to pause subscription time with other games either. A subscription buys the right to access the game, irrelevant of whether you do or not.

And I will avoid that game like the plague, it sounds good in practice, but you can guarantee it'll be far more expensive than the current system.

Charging by the minute/hour actually ends up costing the players more, since we pay less than $0.50 a day under the current model. There is no reasonable per-hour price that would end up costing less than that.

More importantly, games are not the only service like this. Any club/gym/whatever with a monthly membership allows you to suspend your membership between payment periods, but they don't let you pause and restart your membership as you please. Which would be why no one has been able to name a subscription-based game that runs on that model.

I've played MMORPGs for over 10 years now. I never encountered a game in which you could suspend your subscription. And I also never encountered the possibility of suspending a subscription in the real life.

Hmm, I just have this great idea. I could ask my landlord if he would suspend my rent while I'm away on vacation ...
    Lady Morticielle d'Aragòn |VR12| Sorcerer | PvP Rank 21 (Major Grade I) | EU-Megaserver | AD

Subscription cancelled due to the following facts:

    - Zenimax implements more bugs from patch to patch
    - Zenimax does not care about the increasing instability of the game. People have more and more crashes Fix of memory bug decreased number of crashes considerably
    - Zenimax has still not fully fixed the fps drops they (!) implemented with patch1.2.3
    - Zenimax does nothing to fix the massive ability lags in PvP
    - Zenimax gives more attention to unnecassary 'content' like dyes for armors than fixing issues
    - In patchnotes Zenimax lies about bugs allegedly fixed
    - Zenimax has no plan as to how balance population in Cyrodiil campaigns
    - Support is ineffective and does not even speak in a way one can linguistically understand

I would be more than happy if we could get option to buy hours to play. It would cost like 100 hours for 25 Euro. Or month for standard price.

Yes most suspend are pretty inflexible, like it start in next month and count the entire month you start again with.
Only relevant if you are on long time assignment without good internet access like military assignments.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

This is a company that charges a two month subscription in order to receive your 30 trial days and requires one month notice when canceling. My guess is no, they will not do anything that is going to result in them having a lower quarter.

So your idea is to let your friend pay for your account while you're out of town? Sounds legit.

The only instance of "pausing" an account I can think of that might have been done would probably relate to military service or natural disasters (For some reason I want to say City of Heroes did this for Katrina victims, although I could be mistaken).

Cancel payment through your credit card or paypal. That's what I did; mind you I did it because they refuse to let me back into my account. Claim my PC was not an authorized user, claimed they sent me the access code and then it never got to me once. Now I am left wondering if my account has been compromised or their system has: not getting a direct answer on either. Until they get around to making a stable build, take care of the bots without penalizing players and start cleaning up the chats from sexual conduct; I won't be coming back. Shame too, because beneath all that BS was an awesomely fun game.

This is not a good idea for anyone to emulate.

When you cancel a payment through your credit card, you're saying that either you weren't provided with the product or that you were somehow defrauded. When your credit card company challenges the claim to ZO, they will discover that neither of these things are true, and you can potentially be held liable in court for attempting to defraud your credit card provider.
