I really want to be excited, these are well thought out improvements. But, as always, it's probably going to be a "feels bad" for most players (at least me).

Current feels bad: got a Gold Box every day of Jester's Fest, only 1 more chance to NOT get the Blooming Saddle. End up paying Trade Bars like I skipped the event. That really feels bad.

Challenge Difficulty... I NEVER want to use this, but I will be forced to, if the rewards are something I want/need in game. You say people aren't "punished" for not using it, but I'll be the one on Normal difficulty providing DPS for the ones earning the extra rewards. Unless I just spend a lot of time trying to get a different instance. That's so...wholesome /s

I think Favors and Rumors sound great! Until people start spamming Rumor "hints" all over zone and guild chats. Sure GMs can yell at people not to do this in Guild... doesn't stop it from happening.

Great ideas, but I feel that ESO just isn't moving in a direction that makes me want to spend time around players. Maybe I'll just do housing by myself for a few years.

P.S. Twitch drops are broken - I supposedly claimed 8 crates, got none, even after restarting the game.

    I'm generally curious.

I'm not a group content (unless soloable) or PvP person, but the Sages Vault and the new Favor and Rumour systems sound interesting to me, as well as the High Seas event and the two new storylines (not a big fan of Sheogorath personally, but we'll see how it'll turn out). Something leading up to a new zone in Skyrim in early 2027 also sounds good. Nightmarket will also be something I'm going to test at least. Adding more random encounters or random events to the world is also much appreciated.

In the end, the question is how these additions to the game are executed, how the writing for the stories will be - hard to say anything on that yet.

But the short introduction to what's coming definitely wasn't bad - I see it could generally become an interesting year with content that fits my personal interests and playstyle, even without having a typical chapter. It's promising. Still a bit sad there will be no new large area to explore, and no new companions, but it's the way it is.

A small side note: If these features would have been mentioned in that very first 2026 stream in January - the one that was almost entirely about rewards and the content pass - I think many players would have been much less upset, because it would have been clear that getting no new zones doesn't mean no new content. It felt like "not getting anything new to do" had been their biggest worry.

    Reposting from the announcement thread:

My son, wife, and I were all watching from the beginning. The counter kept stopping. After an hour, we were all around 97% of 45 minutes and before we got to 100% and could claim it, sometime in Jess's roundtable, we got this:

    r2hzoivwnxnn.png

    What the heck?

I'm sure it's the same that happened to me in the last two dev streams, but thankfully not this time. Did you have any other streams open in parallel? Because I'm pretty sure the issue is with Twitch and having another stream open gets the site confused even if you were watching the correct one.

    • Season 0 is an odd name for the first season. Harkens me back to programming 101, where you learn how arrays work. Naming in general has some oddities - like subclassing isn't subclassing. It's multi-classing. Things like that, small fries, but still could be improved.
It sounds to me like Session Zero of a TTRPG campaign where you roll up your characters and establish the setting information before you really jump in, but maybe that's just me?

I am excited for the new content.

And note: I am linked with my accounts and “claimed all 9” but only have 3 on my account. Friend said the same thing.
Will wait for a while but weird just the middle claim went through and not the first and 3rd.

I am looking forward to the new era of ESO with seasons in general. On the other hand, there is not much coming on April second.
At the start of Seaon Zero there is basically only Tamriel Tomes as "new" content. I mean, it is a seaon pass, it has been done in other games many times. It is nothing new to gamers.
The Gold Coast Bazaar has already launched
The Night Market is coming at the end of April, which is definitely content I am looking forward to.
The other big features (Challenge Difficulty and the PvP Veterancy System) are coming at the end of the season in june. The gap between content drops in this seaon is too big, in my opinion.
I believe the Werewolf rework is also coming in Season Zero but probably also at the end of it.
A season shouldn't be completely frontloaded but what is the incentive to play at the start of this season? Sure, I can progress the season pass, but I will be doing this all season long. It is nothing special. It is basically endeavors 2.0.
Don't get me wrong. Overall I am looking forward to ESO's future and I am happy with the way communication has gotten better and that you seem to be listening to player feedback more. Please keep that going!
I am just a bit underwhelmed with the pacing of the content rollout of Season Zero. I would like to see this improved for future seasons.

I like the sound of Rumours, following clues and solving riddles with no hand-holding. I miss that from things like the treasure hunt items in Summerset and Elsweyr. And of course from stuff like questing in Morrowind, which I think was specifically called out. Really cool to hear.

I also liked the banter with MrsNineTails about romance. Ahem, you should listen to her. ;) The random flirt options feel like such a tease with no payoff, lol. Doesn't feel like much point without a bit more weight and story attached.

Well, Brian seems to have confirmed that we will be receiving vengeance as a permanent campaign alongside Grey Host.

This just doesn't make sense to me, to be honest. The whole reason vengeance exists is to allow for lag free large scale PVP with 3x the population caps of normal cyro. This is the reason that was originally given to us.

The problem is, when half the community doesn't want to play vengeance because of how dumbed down it is, how can we possibly expect this campaign to reach anywhere close to these population caps? Especially when it is operating alongside Grey Host, Imperial city, battlegrounds, and now the new mid size PVP zone? On PC NA, GH is the only campaign that gets population capped - even at prime time on weekends, the best we see is 4-6 bars total in blackreach.

It just feels like the entire vengeance endeavor is a waste of effort that at least half the community is firmly against. The most recent test reflected this with it's population levels when there weren't bonus incentives given for participation - after the first day or two, it was a ghost town.

Hope we get a more open dialogue about this in the near future, as it feels like the topic of the mode's true popularity is just being avoided by the team.

To be fair here, we did mention some of this in that first stream. But we were still nailing down some of the later seasons content, so it did not seem fair to mention it then if it wasn't going to hit in the season. We tried to give as much information as possible then.

But agreed, if we could have shared more, some of the commentary may have been different. All learning opportunities for us for the future.

My wife, our son, and I were all watching for the entire time. When we had been watching for 1:09 the counters stopped around 97%. Jess was still talking. Then our Twitch inventory said "This reward is no longer available." And Jess was still talking. Her roundtable went on for a good 5 minutes after Twitch ended the Twitch Drop.

I'm more excited for this set of updates than I have been for some of the past chapter updates.

As a player who enjoys a more "roleplay" style experience while also being into PVP/PVE and endgame, it offers a lot for me. I'm excited about Rumors, since I enjoy puzzles. And the PvP Veterancy System is something I've been craving for a long time, since I already have all of the achievements in Cyrodiil (and nearly everything in BG's/IC) and wanted something new to work towards on my PVP main. New cosmetic rewards for PVP is always a plus. A veteran system running along side our main PVP ranks is actually something I've requested on the forums a few times, so I'm really pleased to see that it's happening.

I actually feel hopeful about the game and where it's headed for the first time in a while, though experience has taught me to temper my expectations. I AM optimistic though, given how swiftly feedback has been considered over on the PTS, and how it feels like there's a slightly more open dialogue between players and the devs. (Please keep that up, it makes me feel like the effort I put into testing on the PTS is worthwhile! )

I am slightly disappointed that there's no new companions yet, though I have the feeling the devs might be planning some improvements/additions to the system before more are released.

Oh, and I'm looking forwards to the eventual Templar update ;) I've been stubbornly sticking to my Templar for the longest time, and it will be nice to be able to pure-class again.

We were all just watching the one. We had a second Twitch tab open with the Drops inventory to keep track of it, but no other Twitch streams. Not sure why we'd have multiple Twitch streams open. That sounds horrible.

Hi Everyone! Thanks for tuning in to the 2026 ESO Seasons Reveal Stream. If you missed the live show, the VOD is available to be viewed here.

With the reveal stream finished, we now want to hear from you! Let us know what you think about what's in store for Season Zero, One, and Two in 2026. The things you like, dislike, or have general questions about. This is your thread to communicate your initial thoughts about any of the content shown by the ESO Dev team today. We will use commentary posted here as a reference point for communication between now and various Season Releases.

We also have a longer survey for those interested in giving us feedback on how you feel about the stream generally and the seasonal content plan for 2026. You can fill that survey out here.

Your constructive feedback* and questions will let us know what information we can better clarify in the coming weeks and leading up to new seasons. We look forward to hearing your thoughts on all of the content announced today! Also feel free to participate in the poll as well!

*Friendly reminder to keep the Community Rules in mind when replying. Thank you!

I have some constructive feedback. Really the only 2 concerns i have are rewards and performance. Im not going to beat a dead horse over cyrodiil performance, it just is what it is currently. Hopefully you guys are still trying. And worst case scenario, hopefully cross play will help populate other campaigns.

But as for rewards, I just really hope the new stuff you guys are doing has good rewards. You can make the best content in the world but it needs to be rewarding, especially in an mmo. Because the new stuff does look great, i just hope its rewarding. It would be nice to get some rarer rewards that we can actually trade as well, like the clockwork polymorph. And some of the older content is still lacking, like its kind of crazy there is no mount reward for harder/longer achievements like emperor, or master angler, for example.

But everything looks good, things seem to be looking up. The changes based on feedback is awesome, the communication is awesome, the trying new things is awesome. As someone thats played for 10 years i havent been hopeful for eso for like the last 5 years. But recently that has changed, and its nice to finally be able to feel good about the future of eso.

since improving class identity is a focus, I have some complaints about class class focussed mechanics

sorceror class mastery does not benifit damage dealers who have pets. proposed solution: it should boost the damage and healing pets can do.

templar class mastery does not benifit subclassing damage dealers. proposed solution: the 50% bonus could also occur if the player is standing in an effect they themselves left on the ground.

Unleashed Ritualist gives unique insentive to use class skills which summon pets, but only benifits damage dealers. proposed solution: it should boost both damage and healing done by pets.

It was interesting with some experimental stuff and some things I am probably going to try out when it launches. I am looking forward to try the trial.

But I am basically only interested in big new zones and big new dungeons, so I am feeling like ESO is pretty much done for me. I will try the new things out, but I am not excited.

I was holding out some hopes for 2027 that a new old school zone would come eventually, but they said, 'Our first brand new excursion zone'. So, it looks like it won't be really part of the map, and it will probably be another small-scale experimental thing that will neglect people who have been buying chapters for years and liked these huge content drops.

I am happy they are revamping base game zones. But they only said "Glenumbra', so with this pacing and another 18 zones to do after this one, it will probably be finished in the next 10 years.

To summarize: the format was nice, the contents were experimental and overall, I can't say there was anything wrong with it. The developers seem passionate about it and from a communication standpoint it was great. If I was a new player or someone who only completed a fraction of the game I would be super hyped. But I feel with the recent shift they are targeting more new players or bringing players who quit. But players who liked the old format are not the target anymore. From one side I am happy because I will probably never have to spend anything on ESO, on the other hand it really bums me out that something that I was so invested in transformed into something that's not for me anymore. But that's life.

To be honest, I loved almost everything about it except for the factions for night market, for which I left this feedback in another thread:
I voted none. For myself at least, this is probably the worst part of the new adventure zone-the factions. Understand, I don't want this to sound mean or condescending, but I do want to give honest feedback. I have NO interest in the petty squables between different groups of outcasts vying for power in an outcast daedric plane. In that regard, it's a big immersion breaker because outside of the rewards, I have no in-game motivation to answer the question "why am I here?". I can only speak for myself, but I would have preferred something more like (Heroes of Tamriel/Daedric Cultists/Independents"Freelancers") as the three options. They are broad strokes that allow for roleplay value. Am I here to bring back power for my original home game faction or homeland back home? Do I worship a daedric prince or seek their support? Or do I see myself as an independent "rift walker" esque rogue, wandering the outer realms like Yagrum Bagarn from Morrowind, or merely in it for myself? The current planned factions are too narrow and too local in focus for me to actually have an interest in them as there's no connection to what my character's goals are. I really think the factions need to be completely redone or this might flop. No offense, but I think you just missed the mark here designing these factions. As it is, I'll step foot in the zone, but I have no care or motivation to work for any of these beings/factions, and without a lore or immersive reason to be there, I think you'll get lack of interest or burnout really fast.

But the Sage's vault, the world events, they all look really cool and fun, and I so far enjoy the direction of the class refresh, especially with masteries coming. Really keen on the new investigative systems like the rumours stuff.

I didn't think anything could make me interested in a Sheogorath story, but I'm glad to be mistaken. The rumors and favors look very interesting and, hopefully, immersive. It's nice to see some less-celebrated npcs returning. I am really looking forward to the Thieves Guild continuation as well.

And thank-you, thank-you for the solo dungeons! That is right up my alley and I'm excited to be able to explore them.

There is certainly a lot coming this year that I think will be fun to do.

I'm most commonly the "ride the hype train at your peril" guy. That said, what ZOS discussed in the live steam and the two roundtables has a lot of stuff that I'm looking forward to checking out. I'm not going to claim that it's fantastic stuff based on the advertising, but it's intriguing enough that I will definitely be there to experience it when it goes live. "Cautiously optimistic," maybe?

I watched Artteas and SkinnyCheeks summaries of the Seasons Direct and both state the the High Seas of Tamriel will only be temporary. I didn't catch that during the livestream and I don't believe it was stated as such. That is rather disappointing because that is probably the feature I am looking forward to the most.
I hope it can become a permant addition to the game, like you said about the Night Market, if players want that.

The content looks fantastic. There were plenty of pleasant surprises, and the concrete timelines given for some of the upcoming content was much appreciated.

If there was one thing that I could provide feedback on... it was the format itself.

For me personally, i'm not a big fan of these overly scrubbed, high-tier production, corporate sanitized videos. They feel fake. I can *see* that the stuff that the team is doing isn't any of these things. In fact, the actual work the dev team is doing is two thumbs up thus far.

But... I preferred when it was Susan, Nick, Jessica, and Gina sitting down and having a conversation. It felt human. Relatable. Even the Roundtable afterwards couldn't capture that honest and sincere energy.

I could be completely off base in this, as i'm not one of the people impressed by shiny, well produced videos, but... my suggestion? Go back to the format we got in January. It's probably cheaper as well.

    Keep up the good work.

I think we noted it as a new in-game event in the livestream. So we implied it would be temporary through that. But note taken about it being more clear. We will pass that along for future reveal streams.

Totally fair. We are just looking for feedback on how the stream landed here. We will have plenty of opportunity for feedback on quality of content and ways we can improve the content.

And I agree with you, while we always want folks to be excited for what we are working on, we want to keep expectations in check too. So totally understand the "Cautiously optimistic" for the hype train. Thanks for watching the stream and roundtables!

Glad to hear some items are up your alley!
