Hi Everyone! Thanks for tuning in to the 2026 ESO Seasons Reveal Stream. If you missed the live show, the VOD is available to be viewed here.

With the reveal stream finished, we now want to hear from you! Let us know what you think about what's in store for Season Zero, One, and Two in 2026. The things you like, dislike, or have general questions about. This is your thread to communicate your initial thoughts about any of the content shown by the ESO Dev team today. We will use commentary posted here as a reference point for communication between now and various Season Releases.

We also have a longer survey for those interested in giving us feedback on how you feel about the stream generally and the seasonal content plan for 2026. You can fill that survey out here.

Your constructive feedback* and questions will let us know what information we can better clarify in the coming weeks and leading up to new seasons. We look forward to hearing your thoughts on all of the content announced today! Also feel free to participate in the poll as well!

You once again skipped PvP entirely and even worse than that, you presented something from 3 months ago as news. What happened to all the promises of a new PvP Zone? That continuous betrayal of the PvP community really gets annoying, promises, promises but never anything done.

There will be some PvP content shown. But to set expectations, the mid size PvP zone will not be showcased in this stream. We’re hoping to show that off when a little more work is done there.

However, we did showcase Veterancy that will be a new reward system specific to PvP and highlight class mastery. While we have talked about class mastery before, the point here was to highlight that it is coming in season zero and the intention for it.

I wrote this in another thread, so I'll repeat myself here:

I'm really looking forward to favors, rumors, and the sage's vault. It's the sort of content that will keep me playing ESO for a long time. And as the community roundtable member just said, it's great that content is being produced for all types of players. The Night Market isn't my cup of tea, but that's okay because I'm getting stuff I know I'll love in season 1.

Really loving the new direction of the game!!

Also intrigued by the Skyrim season next year. It sounds like the template of 6 delves, 6 WBs, etc. will be gone. Can't wait!

Needed to have a poll option for reserving judgement till I actually see it when it drops. I'm not really excited for it as the video was too short and did not show near enough to make a good call.

Alright fair, I didn't catch that yesterday and went in with some hopes to seeing something new, as the new rewards were already announced before. I am sorry.

No worries. Totally understand. We wish we could show it off right now. I'm sure we'll have it in a dev update stream later on.

I'm excited about pretty much everything shown, except Vengeance. Vengeance makes me sad because it's just not a fun experience and I don't see that changing in the future either. For that to change it would have to stop being "Vengeance". The only potential it has is as a below lvl50 campaign to give new players a more even playing field, but even that will leave them ill-prepared for the real ESO PvP combat experience because Vengeance is simply too bare bones and not customizeable enough.

Annoying thing first: If there was one thing that annoyed me was the video direction/production itself - there was a lot of cutting from people talking to me, to a view of the side of their face. This seems to be a modern American style of production - Microsoft are now doing it a lot in their online training videos. Please stop this. It's distracting and jarring. When somebody is talking to the camera - i.e. to me - I really do not appreciate cutting to a close-up of the side of their face. Not sure exactly when this became a "thing", but it's not generally something I see outside of American productions.

    Now for the content feedback:

Overall, generally looking forward to the new content and the direction of all of the new stuff: favours, rumours, sages vault, the teaser over the new "expedition zone", dynamic events, the new storyline content with thieves guild, teasers over new rewards in solo dungeons, etc. I didn't see anything to not like there - and it looks to be a welcome turn around from my concerns of last year.

I was a little disappointed there wasn't much more information on the new trial (other than what we've already heard), nor much more detail on additional player experience improvements that may be in the works beyond U49 (and pvp, but you've already noted you're going to run a dedicated session there).

Was a good stream overall, and the round-table afterwards was a nice addition.

I see Sage Voernet was mentioned, but since I saw an icon for future content which I assume is for Sage’s Vault last stream where the city of Moonguard would be in-universe in Glenumbra, I’m curious if it was intended to be Sage Gyron Vardengroet instead? I will see when PTS comes eventually.

Edit: looks like other sites are misspelling Voernet as Varnet https://wccftech.com/elder-scrolls-online-seasons-2026-overview/

I think the stream misspelled it as well

I'm curious about this too, because yeah that icon was smack dab in the town of Moonguard where Gyron is from! It would be an understandable confusion, or maybe ZOS is setting up Voernet being an alias of Gyron Vardengroet? (the loremaster archive did say Vardengroet might be a fake name...) so it'll be interesting to see.

I'm excited, but I have some reservations and concerns.
    • Season 0 is an odd name for the first season. Harkens me back to programming 101, where you learn how arrays work. Naming in general has some oddities - like subclassing isn't subclassing. It's multi-classing. Things like that, small fries, but still could be improved.
    • Much of the future content is quest or quest-like content. I don't really care about questing for its sake, especially in this game where the writing doesn't fit my tastes often. I don't know how repeatable these are, or how rewarding they are. That needs to be expanded on. Unless there's some really attractive rewards, I won't add it to my routine. Getting small stuff like fragments of something, gold, or just other negligible things is going to sink. I want motifs, mounts, houses, the like. Things you guys would other wise monetize for 5k to 13k crowns. Or trade bars or seals. Something of actual value.
    • Uncertainty around Night Market's future. I get that it's an event zone and you're experimenting. I support that, but I worry the rewarding feeling will be lessened, and FOMO will be worsened, with it being a returning feature. I would like to see it have a permanent mode and another wing for the event content.
    • The release of the upcoming content is very staggered and communication hasn't kept up. Just this month alone, we have some features that are coming out in Season 0, 1, in between those launches. Gold Bazaar launched on its own, with only a few things on the shelf for now. It's fine you're launching things when ready, but just try to package them up. Reach out to content creators and other game resources like ESO Hub for a better way to communicate these things.
    • "Cant wait". I totally get you guys are excited, I am too, but this verbiage feels like its taking up too much space that could otherwise have been spent elaborating on new content. I'll shift to "can't wait" mode when I see some cool rewards for doing whatever new content. The cuts of people running and playing in first person are cool, but a little thin. Show me why I should be excited for Sage's Vault, Rumors, and other new systems. Show, don't tell.
    • "Why now?". The why now question about why is communication suddenly important didn't really feel like it was getting answered. It's fine, but many of us suspect it's because the old leadership didn't want it, and now that the game's got new leadership and endured some hard times, it seems important.

I enjoyed the roundtable discussions more than the stream itself.

I hope what was said about improving stories and narratives is true. Especially since many of the concerns that the community voiced were met with silence.

I'm currently not at all looking forward to sheogorath with more cheese jokes. It's a dead horse that just makes me roll my eyes.

I'll keep it simple and clean: my annual ESO+ would expire in 14 days - it won't; it will get renewed for another 12 months, and before that, I'm going to purchase the Season Pass on April 2nd. <3

    Reposting from the announcement thread:

My son, wife, and I were all watching from the beginning. The counter kept stopping. After an hour, we were all around 97% of 45 minutes and before we got to 100% and could claim it, sometime in Jess's roundtable, we got this:

Life is short. If you have not made love recently, please, put down this book, and take care of that with all haste. Find a wanton lass or a frisky lad, or several, in whatever combination your wise loins direct, and do not under any circumstances play hard to get. Our struggle against the colossal forces of oppression can wait.
    Good. Welcome back.
We Khajiit live and fight together, and our struggles will not end very soon, likely not in our lifetimes. In the time we have, we do not want our closest comrades to be dour, dull, colorless, sober, and virginal. If we did, we would have joined the Thalmor.
Do not begrudge us our lewd jokes, our bawdy, drunken nights, our moonsugar. They are the pleasures often denied to us, and so we take our good humor very seriously.
Outfit slots are, no longer disgustingly expensive. A bit on the high side, but at least they are account wide now. So now, this one, my mate, and our cub all have at least two outfits.

I’m still in the “wait and see” phase. I usually don’t go nuts from these type of streams in the first place (well, I did in 2023 when they showed off a new Class), but it’s really the PTS that proves things for me.

I was never someone bored by what we had gotten in the past. I liked the large zone with 6 delves and WBs and the Dungeons and everything we used to get. So while some of this looks cool, I’m still sad that the things I like are what’s being pushed out for experimentation.

The statement that “we’re going back to what we do best, which is stories” was… awkward. ESO’s storytelling and writing has been its weakest part by far for the past few years, so trying to hype the TG and Sheo (oh god why?) stories on the strength of the storytelling was a massive misstep for me. I would love nothing more than to see the stories get back to the level we had in Wrothgar, but considering so much has been laser-focused on being able to flirt with [insert one-dimensional fan-favorite here], the stories lately have been miss after miss for me. And that was before games like Baldur’s Gate 3 came out to prove that people are still able to write compelling and complex character stories.

What do I think ESO’s greatest strength is? Finn’s encounters team, and more specifically the incredible 4-man dungeons. BGF HM was so clever and I loved it… and now we get a year where ESO’s best content is not coming. Oof.

I’m also desperately waiting for new Classes because I love making new characters with unique abilities and writing their own stories for myself. Subclassing really did nothing but throw all of mine in a blender so I could homogenize them beyond recognition, so at least the Class Refreshes and Mastery are coming to give them some sense of identity back… but that’s gonna take a full two years to get through. It pains me that we’re unlikely to see any new stuff for Combat until like 2028 (i.e. not “the stuff you had before but in a different wrapper” like Subclassing was). Please give us our Artificer, and the Battlemage, and the Hydromancer, and all of these Classes that we see on NPCs. ESO has averaged a new Class every 3 years (Release in 2014, Warden in 2017, Necro in 2019, Arc in 2023), so we are due… and having to wait for two more years is painful (especially since a lot of other Live Service games are hyping the new Classes they released this year…)

So the stream was… fine. Nothing really grabbed me and I’m still a bit salty about the fact that the things I like are the things that got the axe this year. But I am hoping we’ll get to see new Classes and Dungeons in the future made with as much love and care as these things.

I'm very excited for the upcoming Seasons. I've been counting the days til the Night Market is on live because I had such a blast with it on pts.

I'm also over the moon about favors, rumors, and Sage's Vault. Gamers who liked exploration and lore collection have had a rough go of things in recent years and while I still hope for lorebooks and lore lead entry progression to be fixed, I am excited for new lore/story/character explorations. I also am happy to hear minor and side npcs that have yet to see recurring quests may get new storylines and content, as are some of my friends whose favorite npcs don't have much past their initial quest in game or base game storylines.

I'm cautiously optimistic about dipping my toes back into eso pvp, the reasons I stopped doing it aren't fully being addressed yet but cosmetics are an easy way to tempt me into anything, I just hope that the new systems are fun and less grindy and also make it easier to play the character we want to/find fun and not the one we feel pressured to grind alliance rank on.

I'm excited for more stories, the storyline moving forward, and more glow ups and things that make the world feel alive.

We did have a screen before and after the trailer noting the roundtables were following next. But that is good feedback. We'll note that for next time. We also noted yesterday that the mid-size PvP was not going to be in the reveal today. It's not ready to show a work in progress build yet. And it definitely wasn't at the time of filming. Which is why it wasn't in the stream today.

Warden’s refresh will be U51, which will release in September. That’d put it on PTS around the end of July, so that’s when we’d hear about it.

The big Class line for U50 that’ll come up in the April stream is Werewolf.

I admit my main concern is actually on werewolf, which far as I can tell wasn't mentioned in this stream. That's fine, but how that's handled will very much decide how much more I play going forward. The current WIP model is rough, and many of us want something more furred and more wolf-like. There's other aspects people can debate and argue over, but the bottom line is, more wolf-like aspects for the wereWOLF. Something like this:

    8ry1ry05ca0p.jpg

And that's not even addressing gameplay changes which also has me a little worried.

Beyond that, the rest of the stuff seems fine, as long as my characters remain fun and playable through it.
