Oh always enjoy them. I thought about watching it myself while doing paperwork, but if one of my mechanics walked in and found me watching video game stuff, I'd never hear the end of it when I tell them to put their phones down lol.

I'm really looking forward to favors, rumors, and the sage's vault. It's the sort of content that will keep me playing ESO for a long time. And as the community roundtable member just said, it's great that content is being produced for all types of players. The Night Market isn't my cup of tea, but that's okay because I'm getting stuff I know I'll love in season 1.

Really loving the new direction of the game!!

Also intrigued by the Skyrim season next year. It sounds like the template of 6 delves, 6 WBs, etc. will be gone. Can't wait!

    Thanks for starting this!

The presentation was great. The tone, the mannerisms were all approachable and empathetic.

Content wise, it's super promising. All of the new content sounds really exciting. The Sheo quest sounds a little cheesy, but I'll bear an open mind. My biggest concern is how rewarding the content will be. It sounds like you're making strides to improve that.

The roundtable format is great. It's so nice to see the people behind the game in such a candid format. I'm sure it's rehearsed, but still appreciated.

I'm not sure how vibrant the content creator space is, but I'd like to see another one around combat. SkinnyCheeks and Hyperioxes are two of the bigger combat-oriented creators, would rather see something like that with them.

    Very disappointing.

2025 was a total write-off. It looks like 2026 will be too. Where's a new content? I mean real content, not just some added quests or updated systems? If you're a long term player, there's nothing new here.

I guess it depends on what you like to do, but it seemed to me that there's something new for everyone this year. For me, there isn't much in season 0 (not interested in the Night Market), but I'm really looking forward to seasons 1 and 2.

I see Sage Voernet was mentioned, but since I did see an icon for future content which I assume is for Sage’s Vault last stream where the city of Moonguard would be in-universe in Glenumbra, I’m curious if it was intended to be Sage Gyron Vardengroet instead? I will see when PTS comes eventually.

Wow am I impressed. I was cautiously optimistic about the idea of seasons, but after watching that breakdown I can confidently say that this is what we need.
Dragon Priest [Restoring Light, Draconic Power, Grave Lord]
Death Knight [Grave Lord, Winter’s Embrace, Siphoning]
Pyromancer [Ardent Flame, Dawn’s Wrath, Earthen Heart]
Summoner [Living Death, Grave Lord, Daedric Summoning]
Ranger [Animal Companions, Green Balance, Shadow]
Druid [Earthen Heart, Animal Companions, Stormcalling]
Elementalist [Stormcalling, Winter’s Embrace, Ardent Flame]

I understand the desire from a studio perspective to move away from a crushing schedule - and I'm not saying the changes being made aren't welcome. That said, let's be honest - most of what we're seeing is a change/upgrade to existing game structures, with a few quests and bit and pieces thrown in.

Where's the new zone to explore? The new architecture? The furnishing that goes with it? The stories? The new characters? What about new classes, new skill lines, new weapons, new races..... anything actually NEW?

When I think about the breadth and scope of what was delivered with - for example - Summerset, versus what came out last year and what appears to be planned for this year, there is just no comparison. There is a distinct lack of new content. Period. But your pricing structure won't reflect that.

So just a few things to follow up on. Thank you for providing your thoughts on some of the content we showed today.
Where's the new zone to explore?
The Night Market is a new event zone to explore and patriciate in. But we also noted that there will be a new zone in Early 2027. In order to make all of the changes and try the event zone, we could not do a full zone this year. But we have one in development, as Jason, Susan , and Nick mentioned.

    The stories?
We talked about the new Thieves guild questline, Sheogorath questline, and Rumors. All meant to give story content.

We noted new characters in both the Night Market and Thieves Guild questlines.

What about new classes, new skill lines, new weapons, new races
The team is in the middle of the class refresh, so these are out of scope for time being. Once we get through a good portion of these, we can get back to working on items like this. But they are things we would like to get to in the next few years.

The note on price. Everything you saw today. Everything new, will be free for anyone who owns base game. The Tamriel Tome will have additional cosmetics and currencies if you would like to pay for those on the Premium Tamriel Tome.

I gotta say, in January during the reveal I felt sad. I felt like ESO as I had known it was gone. The battle pass and no chapters, no dungeons, it all pointed to a game that had given up. I've come to think a bit differently lately, but I must say. Today's stream was fantastic. I would say the opposite is true, they haven't given up. Yes, much of this is, to borrow a phrase from a different game dev, to thicken the game. I've become so used to the schedule that if it's not 4 dungeons, a trial, 6 delves, 2 public dungeons and 6 WBs, it's not good. The game needs this though. It needs to thicken. To make better things already in the game. Random encounters? Let's make them trigger world events. Like IA? Let's do it but with puzzles. Like quests? Let's do it but you're not told where to go. It's gonna be good. It also will have some bad. We'll be back here complaining about something. Today though, I'll be excited.

    Thank you for this, Kevin.

I had suspected as much, but I will admit that the idea that we’ll have to wait until after 2027 for these Class refreshes to finish for the chance of a new Class is somewhat disappointing. By that point, it will have been 5 years since the release of the Arcanist, which will be the longest gap between Class releases… and this when other games release new Classes regularly.

Nothing excites me more than being able to explore a brand new character with a brand new set of abilities. I’m desperately hoping for new Classes once this Refresh is done because I want to experience the world afresh with a different set of abilities, not just throwing all of my characters in a blender and playing whatever comes out, or just taking my main through another spate of event dailies.

I understand that the Combat Team can’t do everything at once. I just hope that they do have “new Class” in the back of their mind so we can get one very soon after this Refresh (and likely more than one in quick succession, considering ESO from release to Arcanist averaged 3 years per Class, so we’re almost due for a second new Class by then), and the fact that new Classes tend to excite people and really bring them back to the base zones.

Night Market is for groups. The development team sacrificed solo players to appease groupies?
Not excited about the 'rumor' concept. If the player does not think as the creator does, they will not be able to follow the clues. It will be another feature that requires the player to leave the game and play Search-the-Internet instead.
I enjoyed the Shivering Isles so I might like the Sheogorath questline.
I enjoyed the thieves guild prior to play it on TESO. In the online version it feels like the thief has to fight off game mechanics more than use stealth skills. Foes seeing through walks, around obstacles, and camping at the one spot the thief needs to be causes the action to stall out. Five minutes is longer than you think.
The class refresh could be good. I do like some of the features on the DK. However, if everything is designed to balance on rotations of min/maxing, it is going to be worthless to a strong majority of the player base.

My opinion is based on experience in this game and gaming in general.

Big fan of a lot of the things the team is working on, these are all features that make one think "wow, this game has a lot to offer" and should be especially good for newer players when you break the monotony of questing/exploring by throwing in something different. Well done.

That said, from a long term PvP player POV there's certain things that get mentioned a lot, such as ranked arenas, or properly balancing the BG format(s) to suit this purpose. Actual competitive leaderboards people could compete over would bring back a lot of hype (and more importantly, purpose) around ESO's PvP.

The Veterancy System, from what it sounds like, is a step in the right direction with seasonal rewards... but this is still lacking the competitive aspect where it's not about ranking in top 1% or even 10%, but rather just about how much you play. I get that competitiveness might not have been the intent of this upcoming system, but it'd still be great to one day get some competitive PvP in this game.

Also while on topic PvP... maybe the team could possibly revisit the scrapped PvP part of the Justice System? I believe that could add a lot to the game as well.

Anyway, just wanted to throw in some thoughts - keep up the good work!

Your Night Market Faction selection is account-wide and you cannot change it until the Event is over. You can however pick another Faction the next time the Event returns.

You can visit the Night Market solo, join a faction on your own, and complete the basic quests. Exploring the available districts is also possible as a lone player.

However, everything beyond that is strictly group content, geared toward veteran players with high-level builds and experience in high-stakes environments. Expect enemy difficulty to range from tough to brutal.

Bosses inside the Night Market are divided in five different categories based on their difficulty level:

    Faceted
    Argent
    Gilded
    Calamitous
    Opulent

Faceted are the easiest Boss difficulty you can encounter in the zone. Argent Bosses can also be found around the three areas. Gilded Bosses are locked inside Dungeon-like instances in the areas. To unlock them, you need to defeat the Argent Bosses of each district first. Once you defeat all three Gilded Bosses, you can unlock a Trial-like Opulent Boss. Finally Calamitous are hard Bosses, that roam around the three districts of the Night market.

Access to the Night Market is time-limited. The event runs from April 29, 2026, until June 17, 2026. The Night Market will return late in 2026, and it might become a recurring feature if the community likes it.

So, I went to read some of the supplementary news publications to get more specific details on the new features and systems that were announced, and stumbled on something that broke my heart.

Can you tell us more about naval combat in the High Seas of Tamriel event?
Mike Finnigan: It's an experimental take. You won't be sailing a giant ship across open water. It's more about fitting naval combat concepts into ESO's existing framework in a new way. It's tied to the larger High Seas of Tamriel event, and we're still working out the details on what form it takes exactly.

I want to throw out there that I would spend hundreds of real dollars to sail on a ship across the open sea with my friends. I would do nothing but sail around for three hours every night. It's a peaceful blend of exploration and discovery that makes the gameworld feel big and full of potential. The game is really missing that -- the zones are all really small, and jam-packed with trash mobs that make exploring a tedious and unrewarding chore, no matter how pretty the set dressing is under it. I promise. Hundreds of real dollars just to peacefully sail around the open sea with my friends.

It's one of a few features in BDO I wish desperately for in another, better game. I think there's a way something like it could really enhance the existing game.

Let's be honest though: if we compare what we got in 2025 (a real low point), or what we're getting in 2026 (apparently even less content than 2026), with Summerset or almost any other Chapter, we're being short-changed by a country mile. This feels like maintenance mode, not an expanding game.

The fact that you're having to reference what's coming in 2027 kind of proves my point - I'm excited for some Skyrim content in 2027, but we're in 2026. And based on what I have seen in the past 18 months, and what you have shared for the next 6-8 months, I'm no longer convinced you'll do Skyrim any justice at all.
