Lag Issues?

Since about 8:00 PM Eastern Time on March 25, 2026 I've encountered some really bad lag while playing on my secondary Argonian Necromancer character while trying to finish his daily writs for gold. I figured it could've been my brother streaming something on Twitch, but I realized that wouldn't have been slowing me down at all since I use Xfinity, and my connection tends to be good. I have read though that people are whining over the Jester's Festival, and it makes me wonder if one or more of these people are using an illegal program to slow the game down somehow.

Whatever the reason is Zenimax should probably look into the lag issues, and maybe check for hardware faults.

i have not experienced it personally, but i've seen several ppl both in game and on discord talk about horrible lag today. i don't know whose end it is on, but you definitely are not alone. my guess would be lots of ppl playing at the same time for the event.

Wednesday evening XB-NA I wasn't having problems, but the two people I was grouped with were, especially in the event areas. I would guess if someone was trying to craft in an area also involved with the Festival side quests, it would have been much fuller than usual, so client/connection would be more likely to trip up.

The drop in frame rate and lag/stuttering during events gives me really bad motion sickness. First noticed it starting with an event with the writhing wall one (probably did before that too but just hadn't linked them!) and again it was straight away this time too, just doing the jesters quests.

Our EOF run last night was mired in problems. I don't usually equate Sunspire with big issues. We had block not registering. Skills needed multiple presses or not firing. Bars not swapping. Ults unable to activate. Severe rubberbanding. Being across the room but the server still thinks you're over there so boom. You're dead. Our poor healers. How can you heal ice cages when your skills don't wanna fire and your bar doesn't want to swap?

We just put it down to jesters. I saw unbelievable amounts of people yesterday while doing my jesters dailies.

On PS5, the only lag I've had lately outside of combat is when I first login, right when my character loads in the frame rate drops really low for 3 seconds. This has been happening since last maintenance. Otherwise lag has been an issue in combat for years.

Same for PCNA and PCEU. Skill delay and stuttering. I've also been kicked out of the game several times.
