Why are they still targetable? Having two sorcs in 4v4 have both of their birds up at all times is cluttering the screen and I have wasted multiple ults on them. Tab targeting does nothing.
This is a problem I brought up two or three years ago when we were only dealing with Sorc pets, and I pretty much gave up on it shortly thereafter because I knew it wouldn’t get addressed. Now, here it is in 2026, and the problem has only gotten worse with subclassing. I’m not trying to fight a player who has both their daedric pets, their bear, and their dwarven automaton running interference for them.
The whole point of the pets is that they are targetable.
Single target damage is out of control, we need more targetable pets. If I can get hit by a 20k Monomyth Spec Bow when my Rallying Cry falls off, someone can put the half second of extra effort into making sure it’s me that is targeted.
But if they can't be targeted, they can't be attacked and killed...
I did once do a BG when it was 8 v 8 and I am not exaggerating, there were at least 6 flappy birds against us. Couldn't even see the owners. Fortunately their owners were very easy to kill once you got behind the birds. It's annoying, but I think that's mostly caused by the stupid things being up in the air. I have a sorc and I'm not against pets in ESO, but the flappies are obnoxious and an obstruction even to their owners, never mind everyone around them. If they were running around at ground level and a sensible size, it would be much simpler to target either owner or pet as desired.
The zoo builds are the one time I will use charm on my warden with zero guild and no mercy. Also, because it's hilarious when the pets just stand looking confused and I can safely attack their owner.
