Farming Gear sets

i would like to see the ability to prioritize sets when farming so you only pull from a specific set out of dungeons and trials first to make the grind less miserable

I think the idea is to get us to be good at all of the content because we must run them a lot for the sets. Also to encourage grouping as others can give you their drops. Some of the drops take so long. Many of the daggers or jewelry especially. The worst is when a very time consuming set like perfected Pillagers gets nerfed when you're 1 piece away from completing it after hrs in VDSR. Condolences to everyone that happened to. There are a lot of other examples of that sadly.

Add a merchant at the start of each dungeon that lets you buy set pieces for undaunted keys, that way you can do other dungeons and still get gear you actually want, without having the run the exact same one over and over.

I mean they added curation, random groups can be quite a pain but that is what alts are for. Addons can filter your queue for you as well to fill in missing items or select your specific dungeons you want to run.

with curation it takes a maximum of like 47 runs or so to collect everything from a dungeon, with 0 items obtained from chests or trading

that number gets halved during double drop events, and further reduced if you do get any drops from chests or trades

so unless your soloing every dungeon or never waiting around to see if anyone offers gear at the end of a dungeon with a group, it really doesnt take all that long to collect everything from a dungeon

trials take quite a bit more runs, mainly because they usually have more sets than a dungeon, and more time consuming as they require more people (increasing set up times and possibly run times if the runs arent smooth), but theres also significantly more people to trade with unless its a brand new trial and everyone needs the gear from it

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (fully filled out with current game), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

in progress: acquiring mundus stones (currently only have the thief)

45, but yeah, around that many. 45 is the worst case scenario.

I was thinking that because trials take longer time and they have more sets to farm, without trading or chests (or random enemy drops) it would take 60 runs to complete the sticker book, maybe it's a bit off balance. Since people run more dungeons, and the items can be collected in normal mode, maybe vet trials should drop two weapons and HM three/four so that it's in balance how many times people run dungeons vs vet trials.

But then I remembered that dungeons come in pairs, while trials come one by one. So with each dungeon update you have to run 90 times, while trials only 60. So yeah, that balances it out.

The first several times you run a dungeon you ought to get several new pieces from each run, what with all of the bosses and the two chests, since the chances of getting something new from each source will be much higher than the chance of getting duplicates of previously-collected pieces. You shouldn't start getting mostly duplicates until after you've done several runs, at which time the curated drops from the final boss will become your main source of any new pieces. So I think the worst-case scenario numbers are too high, as they seem to assume you're getting only 1 new piece from every single run, even from the first several runs when you should actually be getting up to half a dozen or more new pieces per run.

The 'One Hand' (axe, dagger, mace, or sword) from One Hand and Shield sets should fill the sticker book for all four weapon types skins at once, since the type of One Hand item does nothing for the skill.

in real terms, i would probably say the avg number of runs is probably about 25-30 runs, because high chances are you will end up getting several items from chests unless you completely ignore them, and if your running with people who are willing to share weapons with you

once you get down to those last like 10-15 drops your much more likely to end up just getting them through curation instead of chests

generally still a lot better than pre-curation trying to get those last few drops

Another one who wants everything without any effort.

Now imagine getting every gear set in the game at once, instantly gaining 3,600 Champion Points and unlocking all achievements thanks to a skill that deals 200 DPS with a single click (hello, Arcanist's Beam!), and every other player having the same thing.

So the question is: who's going to run dungeons and why?

That's what many players are demanding on the forums. They want everything handed to them on a silver platter. But in reality, it's killing the game.
