Supply and demand. <shrug> It is what it is. Dunno I'd call it greedy. Prices only go as high as players are willing to pay.

Aren't undaunted citations from undaunted dailies that are permanently available?

Yep.They still drop (uncommon/rare) from Bolgrun's undaunted daily. The market got flooded with them during the recent Heart's Week event driving prices down. That surplus has pretty much run its course now.

Sure, but the market should return to a price that's closer to the previous value not drastically higher. It seems more likely that sellers are taking advantage of the release of new citation types during Heart's Week, knowingly or unknowingly. People may simply not realize that they are not an event item and think they should be the same value as the event items.
Very curious about where you've seen those prices, it's around 35-60k on PC/NA.

On PSNA it was in the 30k-ish range before the Heart's Week event. It dipped down to around 5k-10k-ish during the event. The first couple of days after the DK refresh all the cheapest ones were gobbled up bringing it back up to around 25k last I looked yesterday since I have some left over from the event (yes I saved them for just such an occasion). A shopper might stumble across one or two 100k-400k listings, but those are outliers that only a fool would buy.

The economy will be something they have to address with cross-platform. Another latest example is how they raised the writ prices because we were forced into Subclass. Or most recently with the skill exp boost recently. Writ prices more than double what they were before.

I'm not seeing the correlation betweeen subclassing and the price of writs in the traders. Nor with skill xp boosts and writs. They don't go hand in hand.
The increase in writ prices is likely due to the incredibly significant reduction in trait research times, so more characters are rapidly becoming capable of completing a wider variety of master writs than they could before. The cheaper writs are being bought up and consumed faster, leaving the higher priced writs behind. But this will self correct too.. because as a result, all those crafters will now be generating master writs at a faster rate. So the supply of master writs will once again increase on the traders, driving the prices back down. At that point, they may very well fall to an all time low and stay there until some other change in the game comes to pass.
And FWIW, the price of writs on the traders is nowhere near as high as they used to me.

Ofc they go hand in hand Master Writs give high xp, even more so during increased xp events.
Do your writs, add another xp boost such as a scroll or pot, hand them in, watch every skill on your active bar level enormously, brilliant to level subclassed skills!!
I always save mine to either use or sell during such events, cp gain is great too.... they literally fly out the door currently!

Okay yeah, I overlooked that point (especially strange too as that was how I leveled up all my subclassed skill lines). But even still, the point still stands. It wasn't a cabal of billionaire guild traders artificially inflating the price as the person I was replying to alleged. It was simple supply and demand economics.

The OP wasn't talking about 25-30k listings but rather the 400k+ listings, which is definitely people taking advantage of the event wittingly or unwittingly.

Oh I'm aware. I just refrained from placing a spotlight on the point that 400k+ listings are just extreme outliers and not the average listing price like the original post was making it out to be.
