Suggestions on the Build Sharing System

While the ESO tutorial only teaches new players some basic operations, this is understandable, as most MMO tutorials are fairly simplistic.
Moreover, the decision to leave “advanced gameplay” to player-to-player communication is beneficial for the game’s activity.
However, unlike older classic MMOs where you could simply click on a character to view their gear directly, ESO’s build sharing functionality is very outdated.
Without using add-ons or Discord, the only way for players to share their builds in-game is to link every piece of equipment to chat one by one. Champion Point (CP) allocations and other choices can only be explained through text.
Yet ESO is a game that focuses on build crafting rather than gear levels. Details such as item traits and CP choices are far more important.
Because there is no proper build sharing system, players’ motivation to communicate with each other has been greatly reduced.

Lately, I’ve been using GF to farm gear from Veteran Trials.
Typically, leaders who want a fast farm will check achievements to verify whether a player has already completed Veteran mode.
But I’ve found that checking gear instead of achievements can greatly speed up farming efficiency.
Most importantly, if a new player who doesn’t fully understand traits and sets shows you gear that’s clearly “not for PVE,” you can give them advice.
This is much less cold and direct than only checking achievements.
Although I’ve turned down many people who wanted to join my group, most of them thanked me for teaching them how to improve their build.
I usually send this message to every applicant:
“Hi, link your sets or ‘Superstar’ pls. Not very strict, I just want to ensure that you are using a normal PVE build.”
“Superstar” here is a very well-made build-sharing addon. Screenshots are attached below:

As you can see, this addon displays every detail of a build in full.
You can also hover your mouse over items, CP, and skills to view their detailed information:

While I highly recommend everyone to use it, promoting this addon is not my main goal—not all players are willing to use addons.
That’s why I sincerely hope the official team can introduce a similar build-sharing feature integrated with the Armory System. Below are my specific suggestions:
The displayed build could then be viewed directly by right-clicking the player in the friends list, guild list, or group list, just like visit primary residence.
This solves the problem that ESO, as a “shooter-style” game, does not allow directly clicking on a character to view their gear.
Of course, a small icon for viewing builds could also be added to the player interaction wheel menu. :D
