So I know it's likely a touchy thing for a support to bring up being forced to run specific subclasses with the historical state of the meta being pretty much green beams everywhere, but here we go. I was hoping for some sort of change with the DK changes, but there were some pretty questionable changes to tanking subclasses that were made in 49, none of which address this issue. The issue that I'm referring to is me having to bring Winter's Embrace in ANY 4 man hard content.
Why? Because subclassing set the meta up to chase maximum dps and forego all defensive skill lines. Now I get the need to juice dps where possible, I don't blame the community for this. The problem in my opinion is Frost Cloak brings AOE Major Resolve, which is something that no other source in the game has other than a subpar 5 piece set bonus that you can't rely on for uptime, which means that it's a skill line that I 100% have to factor into my build for 4 man content. This was less of a problem prior to subclassing because regardless, the dps and heals had access to those skills because the skill lines were forced onto them. At that point it was literally just spend the 2 skill points in different skill that gives Major Resolve. Why not just make all skill based sources of Major Resolve AOE and just give Frost Cloak another boon to replace it? I do like the subclass as it's pretty stout, i'm just tired of having to build everything around it non-stop.
