Maintenance for the week of April 6:
• PC/Mac: No maintenance – April 6

Stampede: Winter's Gale style from the Crown store doesn't look half as good as the original now.

The original. It had a nice blue tone, and snow effects blasting out:

The new version. It's just stark white/off-yellow. It looks like they added giant snowflakes:

Seems considerably uglier to me. Anyone agree, or do you think the new one looks better?

I did expect some existing styles to be casualties of these changes.

Absolutely agree. I sent in a report on the PTS about this. Thought about posting it to that accessibility thread but didn't because I wanted to give time to correct this. I don't have light sensitivity. Looking at my own stampede-- that I paid for-- physically hurts. I want the light blue back.

I waited until night time, and the ground glow looked the proper blue.
It still looks like cheaper FX over all, as the initial snow/ice explosion was so cool.
But yeah in the dark, the "cracks" still have that "coldfire" blue.

Maybe this is a prelude to our Warden rework’s winter skill line? Instead of crystal blue, more of a white snow and more translucent ice.

I would have to see our future Frost skills.

I hope not but maybe they're trying to make it go more closely to the white blue that is from the destro ice staff? In which case I can handle it, but science says that blue ice is typically the strongest ice because it is more structurally dense and sound than the whiter/clearer ice, so going the opposite route of what games would normally take for ice magic(a piercing cold) would kind of be a bummer.

I like both but they should probably change it back

Is this change listed in the patch notes? I didn’t notice it.

It’s also strange, because not all Skill Styles were updated, like Nocturnal’s Dragon Leap looks exactly the same as it did last patch, having the same straight across wings that old Leap did.

Did they maybe revert it because it was bugging out in the PTS?

No idea, but why pick and choose?
Either update them all or don’t. 🙃

    Personally I prefer the original.

Another example of - after being bashed over and over again with it at any given opportunity - the 'policy is to never change cosmetics once they have been released' litany being a lot more flexible than what the wording would suggest.
