New DK and two-hander is awful

New Dk skill feels clunky and lots of lots skills now cancels bar-swaping it seems, also it seems like servers cant handle all those fancy new animation and just freezes mid anmation when lots going on. and they just destroyed two-hander aswell. Both two hander and dk feels kind of like fighting under water or in mud or something like that, not fluid like it use to be.

The new combat animations are all awful and extremely childish! It's a shame they didn't make this optional. I can't understand why they created Skill Styles just for pointless color changes, and now they've missed a great opportunity to add real changes to the Skill Styles that would be excellent as optional instead of mandatory. It's impossible to understand why they removed the animations that were good to force this thing. It's a terrible regression.

The new 2H animations are almost as awful as the jabs change. Cartoonish, slow and stampede is almost motion-sickness inducing with the blur.

I’ve been seeing a lot of love for them, guess it depends who you talk to.

My only complaint, is the abruptness of the skills falling off, like, it genuinely feels awful to animation cancel these and I’m hoping it gets better with time.
Dragon Priest [Restoring Light, Draconic Power, Grave Lord]
Death Knight [Grave Lord, Winter’s Embrace, Siphoning]
Pyromancer [Ardent Flame, Dawn’s Wrath, Earthen Heart]
Summoner [Living Death, Grave Lord, Daedric Summoning]
Ranger [Animal Companions, Green Balance, Shadow]
Druid [Earthen Heart, Animal Companions, Stormcalling]
Elementalist [Stormcalling, Winter’s Embrace, Ardent Flame]
Dawnguard [Dawn’s Wrath, Restoring Light, Ardent Flame]

This would all be very interesting and debatable if it were optional. In that case, everyone could choose the style they prefer, and everything would be fine. But unfortunately, for absolutely incomprehensible reasons, they decided to destroy the animations that many liked to force this horrible childishness. It's absurd.

For now, it's not so bad... they only destroyed one class and one weapon line. I can stop using that and choose other classes. However, I've already seen that there are plans for them to continue destroying other classes and other weapon lines instead of creating alternatives. It's probably the worst decision I've seen in this game. For those who don't like these even more exaggerated and ridiculous animations, it already gives the idea that it's the slow end of this game – we gradually abandon the classes as they destroy them, until we reach a point where there are none left to destroy and it's better to go play something else.

It seems they decided to change the game to attract an audience that doesn't play this, and they risk losing those who liked it. But hey... it's their choice. If they want to destroy what attracted players, go ahead. I'm really sad because I still like this game, but there are other games.

Just about every single thing zos has touched since they added dark convergence to the game has been absolutely horrible.

    At least 98% of it.

And when they do something that could be good they mess that up too.

    Skill modifications...

    cool idea,

    meh implementation,

but they should have released all classes at the same time. We have to.live with this DK meta to get to the warden then sorc metas I guess.

But did we really have to ruin 2h skills? I mean, they are absolutely garbage. Every time I hit dizzy or executioner I feel like i am playing a low budget discount rack game now that I got from the back of Game Stop for $3.99. I dont know how else to describe it. Unbelievably horrible.

The skill lines are also botched like a bad plastic surgery. Shame on design.
    Rest in Peace:
    The Dragonknight
    2014-2025

This commemoration is for the class that has constantly been plundered and dismantled by designers for no obvious reason while other classes continue to have coherent skill lines and feel both powerful and cool.

Yeah, my initial reaction to the new 2H animations was basically "What the...?!?" But I quickly started to like them-- at least, the ones for the 2H skills that I use. I'm not sure how difficult it would have been to keep the old animations and let the new ones be optional-- that would certainly have been the ideal approach-- but I'm okay with the new 2H animations. It might be worth noting that I very rarely use light attacks and animation canceling, so I don't know if that has a bearing on my reaction.

They to play a pure class DK damage dealer is one of the clunkiest experiences I have had in this game. None of the timers line up and few of the class skills can really be cast in succession due to this sort of choppy all over the place timing and new animations. The worst offender has to be take flight into engulfing dragonfire. They intentionally created this synergy to make one skill power the other. The delayed leap causes cause the LA weave to stutter and the 4.8 second channel makes no sense when every other skill is in increments of 5. The initial damage seems to come out on a delay as well.

This does not feel good to play at all and this rework needs more refinement.

Or they could make the good animations available again and give us the freedom to choose. Or, in the worst-case scenario, they could put them up for sale in the Crown Store and make money from it. I'd buy them right now! Especially the old DK animations, the new ones are terrible.

I agree with Radiate on this. Most of our guild members like the changes. Personally I think the new timing is an improvement from the old DK as far as dps goes. The DK dps was always something that had a lengthy rotation. This isn't something new. I was weaving with it too and it feels better on the rework than the old DK (even though I can weave, I would like to see it go away). A lot of our vet players discussed this and I believe the new animations help the newer members see where the buffs are and help highlight where it is in group.

Hard disagree, in pcna most comments were about how great the changes are for almost everything, only complaint I really saw was from people unaware of where skills were moved around to, and DK being everywhere in Cyrodiil lol.

Its beautiful, and I couldn't be happier.

My only complaint is wings buffet seems to be slightly misaligned but its very minor, I assume they'll adjust it some time in the future.
Zos then: Vengeance is just a test bro

Zos now: Do you want Vengeance permanent or permanent...

Maybe if they angle the wing buffet next to the other buffet tables it will line up better. 😉
