The amount of particle effects and animations has gotten ridiculous over the last few years, to the point where encounter mechanics now involve blinding players with white light because they can't figure out anything else to do...someone was like "i know! let's just turn the screen white and blind them for mechanics! it's so much easier that way!"
Apparently putting the game on the wrong monitor is one of the newer mechanics too....
Only MMO i know of where you can't actually reduce the amount of player particle effects and animations. It's gotten to the point where you can't even tell what's going on anymore because the screen is just filled with crap.
For me DK is feeling clunky to play with some of the new animations and skill changes. I don’t mind the look of the changes but the feel of them is a definitely a bit wonky. It’s like putting a square peg in a round hole and realizing the only tool you have is a giant hammer. Slow, clunky and awkward, certainly not the most efficient way to get the job done.
I absolutely love the new animations, makes the game feel so much more modern. Just want superheated ward to be slightly larger in radius so my guy's legs/feet don't clip through it lol.
alot of the new animations really have the problem of bloating combat......sure for a hack and slash single player experience it can look cool. However in an mmo with hundreds of players potentially on the screen, it gets absurd. Combat boils down to a cloudy fog of animation and particle soup.
I wish zos would put priority on gamechanger skills like ultimates, CC, or heavy burst skills like merciless. Would you rather see a juiced up meteor animation OR would you rather see a goofy 1-2k valkyn scoria proc that someone happened to accidentally place on you. This is game design 101 kinda stuff.
I only use insightful
BG MMR should NOT reset, zos sponsored smurfing is a terrible design choice.
PvP needs more incentives, even simple purple/gold mats would suffice.
You mean you don't like seeing all of the players running around like beacons of majesty?
I don't care for the light show either. With all of the skill styles, new DK effects, and proc sets going off it feels like it's a battle of who has the biggest aura.
Agreed. The overall redesign is fine, but we should get rid of all the flashy lights. Molten Armament looks good even without the flashy effects. The colored coating it fine by itself. Same for Wings and Dragon Blood. The flashy ring that indicates a cast is totally unnecessary.
