How do you feel like the change coming to the daily login reward/endeavour system?

There are already many polls about this issue, but I feel none of them have enough options to capture all sorts of feeling people might have towards this change. So I made a new one.

How do you feel like the change coming to the daily login reward/endeavour system? 51 votes

I'm tired of spending time for daily chore everyday.
So this new system is greatly better than old style. :)

First off, thank you for this. Lovely poll, amazing answer options.

As for my answer, it's a little complicated. While I am critical of daily login systems and predatory gaming tactics, the old system was nice as a part of my "idle things to do to help turn off my brain and help fight my insomnia" and the routine of it being daily helped with consistency as a sleep aide. At the same time, I don't hate the daily endeavors being cut from my routine and as long as no major changes happen to crafting dailies I should still be able to do my version of counting sheep.

As a shameless cosmetic addict, the new system will get me more of what I want and less junk so it's already an improvement on that. I do have some concerns/misgivings about the new system but it's looking like on paper it will be a net gain for me.

I do have some issues with the new system. I feel eso+ should get more from tomes than what they are, especially with the cost of the tome+. I also will be paying attention to people tallying up how the first tome's payout goes to determine how much is gained with the new value of things for accountability and transparency purposes. I was frustrated that we only got to test the first 3 pages of tomes on pts and that we couldn't view what was coming in the full reward track and give feedback on it's value.

So yea, I'm somewhere between cautiously optimistic and hopeful.

Hard to tell at this stage, the Tamriel Tomes system isn't starting for a few more weeks. I miss the daily tasks though, and I suspect I'm going to have to find some way to organise myself with the new system.

I think it's too soon to tell. It's easy to say the new system looks better because all we've seen of it is ZOS marketing and a mini demo version on the PTS.

The marketing is, well, marketing, it's entirely purpose is to sell the new system to players, both figuratively in convincing us this is the first major step in a great new direction for the game, and literally in that they want us to pay for season passes. So of course it sounds like an improvement to the old systems.

The demo season pass on the PTS was hopefully designed mostly to test the mechanics, but part of that will mean making sure it focuses on quick, simple tasks players can do several of in the limited time they're willing to commit to free testing and on a server with a very low population. It wouldn't surprise me if marketing was also a factor - making sure the first look at the system is as appealing as possible.

But also each season pass is going to be different, and we know ZOS iterate on these systems as they go along. They did it with ESO+ free items (I think there was 1 costume, used to advertise the system, before they settled on statuettes and the occasional painting), with daily login rewards, endeavours and various other systems.

I'm expecting season passes to go through similar iteration. The first few will have bugs and design features that are unpopular with some (or all) players that will need to get sorted out, and the rewards will change as time goes on and especially as both ZOS and players get more used to the system and ZOS stop pushing it as the next big thing.

I want to see what that version looks like before I decide if it's better or worse.

I didn't mind endeavours and I was indifferent to login rewards, I'm hoping to feel the same about seasons passes (hoping I'll like them is unrealistic) but with it being the whole system for new content in the game I'm more concerned than I was about either of those that it could end up making things worse. I hope I'm wrong but I'm not going to say I'm excited because the people selling it to me told me to be excited.

I hate dailies with a passion

Weeklies that let me do what I need to when I have time have always led to a better long term experience

Just need crafting writs to be changed to a weekly thing now then I can really optimize my enjoyment in this game 🙏

What I dislike most about the old systems is not that I have to login and play every day, but that I'm forced to do something I have zero interest in. Seems this feature won't go away in the Tamriel Tomes.

You can reroll weeklies you don't want to do for the tome quests. Event tome quests are fixed. You get so many rerolls a week for now, they are planning to allow endless rerolls with gold eventually they said in a stream.

Sounds like the reroll mechanic in Infinite Archive… hope it really works

Knowing that the seals are not going anywhere, and we will be able to get them through the new system, I'm not missing the old system in the slightest.

I'm voting on potential as l am familiar with Battle Passes in other games and it sounds like ESO's is gonna feel better than most based off the current descriptions.

But it's not a strongly held opinion yet because it's not in the game.

Seems like people who've tried Tomes system in PTS tend to give it high credit, a good sign indeed!
