Which PVP ... if any ... should I commit to?

I currently suck at anything PVP.
I'm slowly trying to get better.
Right now, I have characters in each of the 3 alliances.
I'm wondering if I should just commit to a single alliance or stick with what feels right for that character.
Also, if you think I should commit to an alliance, then why, and which one and why?

This one suggests committing to a faction and getting to know your allies for better knowledge and support. That gets more difficult the more your time is spread out.

Stick to having fun. Whatever brings sustainable enjoyment to you, do that. You will get gud most likely no matter what with continued play. Fun is all that matters.

Really, my reason for wanting to get good at PVP is for roleplay reasons.
I want to get emperor with one of my characters. It fits his backstory nicely.
I know enough about that process to know that when I am finally ready to make that move, I will need to take some PTO and spend a metric ton of time on ESO during that time. I know that capturing keeps will be critical and maxing out the number of keep capture quests I can take in a day will also be helpful.
But long before I do that, I will first need a good PVP build. I also want to have my Alliance rank maxed out. (That one is subject to change).

For the fun side, the goal is the fun. But then again, I'm also a highly driven individual who is prone to push way too hard on way too many cases.

If you are looking to get Emperor, your best bet is to join a group or guild that does PVP. After that, the easiest way to do it is to dominate a non-GH campaign with their help in getting the AP required

If your main goal is getting emperor then I suggest using a healer/rezzer build and joining a PvP guild. You can tag guild groups until you learn the ins and outs of AvAvA keep fights. When you're ready, you can start your own pug group in zone chat and climb the leaderboard. Using siege to kill players is also a great way to contribute if you're still new to combat mechanics.
