Wizard's Wardrobe Request: Town Outfits

Hello,

I hope this is an okay place to make a feature request. I apologize if not!

Would it be possible to have the Wizard Wardrobe detect when you're in a town (or maybe a capital city) and then have an equipment setup you can change to for being in town. I think it would be really nice as the clothing you can steal not is currently very usable since they require to you to unequip your gear.

Thanks for your time and the work you and the other add-on authors do, regardless of the outcome of this request. 🙏🏾

Excellent idea. However, this way it would require overland area checks, own section for all the areas. Probably a huge task.

A simpler way would be to add a function that saves your current outfit when you save your gear to a setup. And a setting to turn saving your outfit off.

That way the coding would be easier. Users could then make a page under General, save as many setups as they have outfits and swap using hotkeys. Wouldn't be automatic but I think the less extra work it creates, the more likely it is implemented.

I recommend posting on the wizards wardrobe page.

Most add-on authors do not follow the forums.
Relthion: CP810 DK Tank - vMOL HM, vHOF HM, vAS HM, vCR +2
Malorson: CP810 Mag Sorc - vMOL HM, vHOF, vAS HM

    Addons:
    Dolgubon's Lazy Writ Crafter
    Dolgubon's Lazy Set Crafter

I happened to see this as I checked in on the other thread, but would recommend posting directly to the addon page in the future https://www.esoui.com/downloads/info3170-WizardsWardrobe.html#comments but can discuss this here for now.

Outfits aren't quite within the current scope of Wizards.
The only detection is to swap to a trial/dungeon page when you port in, or to equip a setup when a specific boss is detected. There isn't currently any detection for entering overland subareas.

It's possible this is better placed as a separate addon rather than tacking onto Wizards. Forgetting Wizards for a moment and just isolating what you want, is it just an outfit slot you want to change? Or do you imagine changing the actual gear as well.

    @STUDLETON

Oh sorry about that! Thanks for the reply.

To answer your question, I would like to be able to change my equipped gear while in town. There are clothing pieces that you can equip in the armor slot that are just for the looks. It would be cool if this addon detected you were in a city and could change your armor for that. But I understand if there's no checks for it that it's probably not feasible.

These are clothing pieces I mean.

Anyway thank you very much for the reply. I appreciate it.

I see. Wizards does work then as a way to have a gear setup, but the city detection and trigger are still a bit out of the addon's focus.

I would say a separate addon, a plugin for Wizards you could say, would be the way to go. There are other addons that do that; extending off or adding into Wizards functionality.
I imagine it would have its own area detection and then trigger the Wizards setup, thats easy enough to do externally.

Personally I have a queue of things to work on at the moment that are more combat focused, but if no one else takes it up I might get to it myself eventually.

Thank you! I wouldn't know how to make an add-on plug-in as I have no programming experience whatsoever nor do I have a PC I could do it on, I think, since I'm on console and my only PC is an older laptop. Is there a place where people can request plugins like these or is the best place that link you sent?

I linked to ESOUI, it's a third party but central site for addons. For consoles the separate Bethesda website exists, but thats only really there as an interface to let consoles download addons at the moment.
The previous link was to the Wizards page where I would receive comments more directly, but if you want to open a discussion and request someone to make an addon you could try in their forum section at https://www.esoui.com/forums/index.php
I can't say how successful that would be but that might be the best place to try, beyond asking some addon devs directly.
