Have 23 hours remaining on the Returning Player Rewards which is probably the issue.
I guess it is good I have at least two low level mules. At this point I have hit 3600 and still have hundreds of xp scrolls though.
Not a fan of locking behind things that could one day be useful though. Rather than level skill lines it could have easily been newbie friendly like kill 50-100 goblins, undead, orcs, even wild animals.
You have a month so hopefully you can find a trial by then.katanagirl1 wrote: »I think you guys are missing the point if you are focusing on the reward for that particular task. OP is probably more concerned with reaching 20/27 tasks, I know I am this time.
I was scheduled for a trial this week so that was one task and I could probably have gotten the kill X enemies or whatever related task too, but my trials guild had something happen this week and people are leaving in droves. Getting 20 tasks done is going to be more of a challenge now.

I am absolutely sure that ZOS is "very careful" of this issue. There are 27 Golden Pursuits, only 20 of which are required for the top reward. If you don't or can't accomplish all 27, then you will miss a few of the minor Rewards, which I am sure they are aware of.
I am pretty sure this issue of Golden Pursuits was addressed over a year ago, and I am satisfied ZOS is aware of this.

I just sent a non-crafting character to the guild bank, withdrew a few of the crummy armour items in there and deconstructed them at the clothier table. 4 white/green items gave one level in the Clothier skill line.
Sadly, I think my guildies had the same idea, as there's nothing left in the bank

Hmm... I heard you get less XP if the items were crafted on the same account - hence why I raided the guild bank.

Doing crafting dailies with several characters (or one for several days) will give 6/20.
Collect and refine mats +2, improve items +1 (master writ or just make some trash green/blue). So 9/20.
Visit houses (including your own) and place furniture +2. 11/20.
Use ult can be done even without kills, in any guildhall with well and dummy. +1
BG doesn't require to win, so easy +2.
One fungal grotto even solo takes few minutes for experienced player, +1 (ten are boring)
Three worldbosses are easy and quick, +2, 17/20
Event boxes +2, 19/20
If not enough enemies are already killed, 1 scribe will finish 20 tasks.
Each of this tasks will require few minutes (maybe in different days) and is available to everybody.
Where is challenge?
But you don't even need to win, just participate...katanagirl1 wrote: »I can do 17 easy, but running a BG (even though I PvP in Cyrodiil) will be an excruciatingly painful experience as it always is. Trying to avoid that one.

10 dungeons and 8 incursions are also easy, just takes more time.
And 100/500 enemies can easily be done in public dungeons or archive solo, or dungeons (solo/random/group, which one is more comfortable).

If something that gets added to the game winds up causing people to need Skills from a Line they haven't leveled, then at that point they'll level that Skill Line, I imagine. But most people aren't going to level Resto Staffs on a Stam character that uses 2H weapons, because that character literally gains nothing from that Line. Just like people who don't do Crafting aren't going to bother with most of the Crafting Lines (other than the few that make your Food/Drink last longer and iirc there's one for Alchemy that lets you use Pots more frequently? I'm probably wrong on that one I'd have to check the passives for Alchemy lel). Grinding for something your character will probably never need, to me at least, feels more like a waste of time than leveling something after it becomes viable would be.frogthroat wrote: »Any Skill Line, yeah. That would be:PeacefulAnarchy wrote: »Skill line doesn't have to be class line right? I've maxed those but I probably have a weapon line somewhere that isn't leveled
All Class Skill Lines
All Weapon Skill Lines
All Armor Skill Lines
All World Skill Lines
All Guild Skill Lines
All Crafting Skill Lines
All PvP Skill Lines
That is a LOT to unlock on one character, let alone numerous. Especially because no one character is going to need to have every single Skill Line unlocked; if your character is a Mag based one for example, you wouldn't gain anything from leveling everything like 1H, 2H, or S&B Skill Lines.
When you play a while, no, not that much. I grinded some skill lines, but not too intensively. I have all class skill lines levelled, including all subclassing skill lines (week 1), all guild skill lines, only a few characters are missing some crafting like enchanting. From weapons, I am missing a few levels on some skill lines, mainly s&b and resto for those that I have not played tank or healer.
But there are players who make master writs and level up not only all the skill lines, but also all the skills, including both morphs. I only pay attention until I can morph all skills.
I wanted to continue cleaning up my spreadsheet, levelling up missing skill lines but the last time there was a golden pursuit with skill line levelling, I decided to not do that. And it paid off. Yesterday I could again equip a shield on one character and level up the s&b skill line 10 levels. Not sure what is going to happen once I have levelled up all skill lines with all characters, so now I have to save them in case a golden pursuit has that pursuit again. (Ok ok, in reality, I probably won't because it's not that serious for me, but I do understand why blocking a player from being able to get some goodies is not the nicest thing to do, even or especially if they are in end game.)
And how do you know you don't need some combination of skill lines and racial passives in the future? Maybe after Warden rework pure class Warden becomes a meta tank and you need that s&b on your Warden. Maybe Wood Elf passives are changed and that replaces Nord and Imperial as the meta race for tanks. Maybe 2h ... maul gets a bonus for blocking and that becomes viable in tanking. Would you prefer to start playing immediately or first grind levels before you can start playing?
Levelling up everything is preparing for the future. That is why I have been levelling up everything. Man, maxxing Psijic on all characters was boring. But having a beer and snacks next to me, funny videos on 2nd screen and running the Psijic on all characters took me about a week. And I maxxed out Mages Guild and got many skyshards for all characters while levelling up Psijic.
Oh 100% agree on being careful on tasks that can't be completed, and also about what rewards are tied to those tasks. Nothing unique like Collectibles or Titles or anything like that should ever be tied to being able to complete a certain task, and tasks that do have rewards need to be things a majority of the player base can do.valenwood_vegan wrote: »Aaaaah I see. Personally I don't think it's *too* big a deal since it is just an exp scroll, and if someone has been playing long enough that all their characters have all their Skill Lines maxed and have all the characters unlocked they can get...they proooooobably don't need a single exp scroll.
Yeah I hear you, it's not a big deal, I really wasn't trying to make it into one.
My feedback to zos is simply that zos should be very careful when they include tasks that potentially *cannot* be completed by some portion of the playerbase. Sometimes their teams don't communicate or coordinate well so I wanted to flag it as a potential issue for them.
I absolutely think an xp scroll is appropriate for a player who still has skill lines to level up and that's fine. Overall I'm happy with the pursuit.
Though I would like to see additional challenging tasks included for vet players as well, as these pursuits are extremely boring. But I recognize that the overall pursuit should be able to be completed by the majority of players and I wouldn't want that changed.
Out of curiosity, which tasks are the ones you're going to have a harder time with? Maybe people can offer tips that will make some of them easier?katanagirl1 wrote: »Enemoriana wrote: »katanagirl1 wrote: »I think you guys are missing the point if you are focusing on the reward for that particular task. If you have antiquities Maxed on 20 characters then I am both impressed and concerned at the same time.

And despite all that I still have plenty of options opened to me to gain 10 ranks in any skill line many times over.
I am wondering if most of the people worried they would be unable to do it are not forgetting something they can absolutely do to meet the criteria or see it in a light of "I want to complete it but not like this".

The penalty only applies to crafting and deconning on the same character last i checked. Doing it on a different character is effective.
The order is:
Intricate
dropped gear ( color means more inspiration)
Crafted by another character/player (ranked by color)
White Crafted and drops
Crafted and deconned by self
Stolen gear
Yeah, I thought so too. Until I figured out I need minor berserk on my bomber build and had to level resto staff. Camo hunter would do that after the initial hit.But most people aren't going to level Resto Staffs on a Stam character that uses 2H weapons, because that character literally gains nothing from that Line.
