Balancing of Future content?

How is ZOS going to balance new and future content alongside the reworking of the classes? At the moment, subclassing is doing 180K on a dummy, and it seems that DK pureclass will reach 170K+. ZOS said that they temporarily boosted the reworked classes to bridge the gap toward subclassing. So will ZOS nerf the pure classes again once subclassing, after the rework, can only hit 140K on a dummy? Or will subclassing become a gimmick for damage dealers? Or will we continue to keep the damage so that the content being released during the rework remains doable on higher difficulties (HMs and trifectas)?

Maybe this is already being discussed and I missed it? I’m just curious what ZOS plans to use as the benchmark for future content, and whether they will go back and rework content that was released during the class rework if they decide to lower damage again after the class reworks.

    They never addressed powercreep and I don't think they are going to address it now. It's been like this for years. They balance content around present meta but then they buff everyone almost every big update.

    Tbh they should take away power instead at this point. They seem to "care" more about the game now, maybe we'll see some changes eventually.

    "taking power away" never goes well

    They just have to balance future content around the new power ceiling and floor

    Inb4 150k parse req for runs :* it is already 120k+ often. 500m dmg sponge 30 min fights seem enjoyable.

    Well, with Class Mastery coming, they also have to balance around that as well. So IMO, it will be impossible to balance anything until all the classes go through their rework and Class Mastery is included into those calculations. It's a WIP, and I'm OK with that because they have a plan for that progress, unlike the willy nilly balances that were done in the past.

    Also, it's nice (and about time) that they've started making ability adjustments between PvE and PvP separately. As seen in the new DK rework, some skills are less impactful in PvP... which means that we can finally stop having PvP be the cause of a build being destroyed in PvE because a certain skill was 'OP' in PvP and vice versa.
