Why Does the Blue on the Chroma-Blue Dwarven Spider Disappear and Not Return?

If the blue doesn't stick, then there was no point to the purchase for me. The crown store didn't advertise it with disappearing blue either. :s

    I love the outfit you have going on. By not sticking, is it blue when you open character select / summon the mount and not return again no matter how long you wait? It definitely would be weird for it to not be permanent though I do know gameplay-wise that blue markings usually means overcharged by another dwarven spider. Maybe send a /bug report?

    That seems really odd that it’s not a static color. Does it cycle on and off, or does it just start on and then at some point disappear completely?

    Just bought this and came to report the same issue. The blue highlights disappear 30 seconds after mounting up.

    It's been a while since I used a mount like this, but I'm fairly certain if you're at a standstill and press spacebar, it comes back. For a short time, at least.

    I absolutely could be wrong, though.

    I do have another clown crate mount that has a mane of leaves (I think) when I'm standing still and press spacebar and the cat roars. It stays for a duration, then fades.

    I am going to assume you don't want to stop every few seconds to reactivate the effect. If it is something I were intent on, I know I would be very annoyed by it.

    It's not the rear up/roar effect, it's the actual thing that differentiates this mount from the basic Dwarven Spider. It would be more akin to like if you mounted up on literally any crown store purchased horse and after 30 seconds it reverted to the plain ole' Sorrel Horse from level up rewards.

    Zorrin has explained it perfectly. The rear-up action will not bring it back. It sticks for 30 seconds, and then it disappears until you dismount and remount. I want it to stick permanently.

    The issue is that it could be a bug, but it could also be intentional. I HOPE it's a bug. I already have the plain dwarven spider, so this version is such a waste if the blue color is intended to disappear.

    Hi, got my forum account sorted today specifically to confirm that this is indeed a visual bug, if not intended.

    About 30s exactly after mounting, the glowing blue visual deactivates and does not reactivate. Mount rearing causes no change to this.

    I've tested this both stationary and moving, interval is the same.

    I'm quite sure it's a bug. The rear-up effect is the same as with other Dwemer spider mounts: It turns on the headlight for a while. The blue color is unrelated to that.

    Hey, @ZOS_Kevin any chance we can get confirmation on whether this is a bug or not? I personally would really love to keep this mount if this is a bug that will get fixed, but if not I'd rather refund it and get the Ebon Steel Dwarven Spider that is coming soon instead.

    Confirming for anyone else interested that the yellow on the currently available Ebon Steel Dwarven Spider does not disappear after 30 seconds :)

    I have decided to keep the Chroma-Blue Dwarven Spider because it matches my character too well (for half a minute anyway), but I do hope it gets fixed soon because there is just no way it is meant to be like this especially for the rather steep price of 4,000 crowns.

    WOW, really? Seem like that's an attitude from the previous leadership's team, not something we should be seeing in this new era. I mean, how difficult would it be to fix?

    The same thing happened to one of my mounts... they suddenly increased the glow brightness of the eyes to the point you could see the eyes glow THROUGH the mounted player, I reported it, and it was also never fixed, so I cannot even use that mount anymore and it was an Apex mount that I was lucky enough to get.

    That sounds like when I wrote Support about a bugged lorebook, and they told me in the same conversation that it would never be fixed and that it would be fixed “soon.” In reality it seems they have no idea but can provide an answer when they feel pressured — even if that answer has no basis in reality. So if you heard this from Support (who seem to work for ZeniMax Media and handle more than ESO) rather than from an actual employee of ZOS, I am not sure I’d put much stake in their response about bug fixes and timelines.
