Some of these are in the Master List. These ideas would make use of existing assets, save on slots, and add more utility and value to existing furnishings. (Thanks to Trasse for a few of these suggestions below!)

A multi-effect light: (this one needs its own post) 3tciL1T.png
A collage of some of the features the light should have, explained with screenshots in the main Tumblr post.

Chains and ropes with a toggle for different lengths:
Simple chain and rope furnishings with 2-3 interaction states: long, longer, short.

Because it’s not always possible to clip entire chandeliers through a floor to hang something. And a nuisance to spend slots hiding the candle part of Druidic Gourd Candle, Hanging and similar just to use the rope, or spend slots using multiple Daedric chains, etc.

Rope could be toggled to be short, medium, long. Silly collaged example, but you get the point I hope!

Extendable, climbable ladders:
Similar to chains and ropes, these simple base-game ladders (rough, straight, and rope styles) with toggles to extend length.

And an interaction to make them climbable vertically (short teleport) would be fantastic if possible! (Imagine if we could “climb” directly up and down our custom structures instead of having to make some labyrinthine layout of unwieldy staircases and ramps that take up tons of space and slots!)

Toggles to fill/empty dishes, water, planters, tables, bookshelves, etc.:
Instead of different furnishings, how about one asset with a toggle between states?

Could this even be applied to some existing furnishings (that do not already have separate version)? Whatever the current state is (e.g. empty dish) should be the default toggled state so players won’t have problems to fix in their houses.

Toggles to break, ruin, and repair:
Similar to the Colovian mirrors, it would be so cool if more furnishings – especially structures – had a ruined and clean state!

Especially true for Elsweyr structures that everyone has always complained about the state of. We LOVED the new Elsweyr Ritual Archway, Restored, but some complained it doesn’t match existing Elsweyr items. Imagine if the old items could be cleaned up – at least those with “clean” assets! <3 (Same as above: the current state should be the default toggled state so players won’t have problems to fix in their houses.)

Khajiit outside of Moonlit Cove delve in Southern Elsweyr. One of the Elsweyr structures that uses the Elsweyr Ritual Archway, Restored model.

An additional toggle state for music boxes:
On, Off, Silent (animated, but no music)

Related: An item that allows us to change Zone music throughout the house would be so helpful! → Request for Housing music changer ♪ & a similar ask here: Suggestion: Dwarven jukebox furnishing.

Just a start! Others surely have great toggle ideas – TBC.

Would be awesome to have more trees with seasonal toggles like Y'ffre's tree of seasons.

    And here's me overthinking this:
Toggles could potentially be really annoying in bulk. So say we need 30+ of one structure in a build, and we want it in the "ruined" state: it'd be stupid to have to toggle all 30 pieces individually. Those of us who use EHT on PC would be fine, since there are multiple ways to select multiple objects and even turn them on/off. But woe to everyone else! So if this was implemented at all, could there also be a new UI feature to multi-select and toggle items, like EHT lets us do?

    + another idea:
Toggle plants for single / cluster versions!

    Overthinking part 2:

A separate request has been floating around for a feature to lock / unlock interactibles individually – a manual override of Limited Visitor to allow visitors to interact only with specific items.

Many housers have already had their builds ruined if choosing to leave permissions on Visitor for any reasons. Some bad actors go through and change the toggle states of items. Now imagine with even more toggles like these – your whole town could literally be ruined! For us with EHT it's pretty easy to fix, but still, not everyone can use that, and it's impossible to be constantly monitoring your houses for criminal activity T_T

So, while a little tangential here, LV-override is practically necessary!

One thing I've always wished for was some of these armor stands you see everywhere. Would be neat if we could actually get them, and then maybe it could have a few different states where it has various weapons on them in different arrangements, so you could kind of customize your build. Maybe one of the states of an armor stand could have various gear and stuff on it. Or a state that has pickaxes and stuff like I've seen outside West Weald delves.

Having things with toggles and additional states is such a good idea. Def +1
