im not sure i would have much to say on a 10 question setup about treasure map leads

the only thing that really needs to happen with them is much higher chances and curation for stuff your already missing, as this would resolve a lot of the difficulties with them

maps themselves are not too hard to obtain, and when the zone you want shows up in say the infinite archive rotation vendor, you can just buy tons of maps for the specific zone if its one you want, not to mention most treasure maps also get pretty cheap to buy from guild stores after the "new" has faded away

if the chances to get stuff from them was higher and curated to what you needed, their prices would see an initial spike but then level out quickly after an update as less people need them

That's only true for old-zone maps. This is one of the big pain points discussed in the main thread and in my compiled-info post – 3rd bullet from the top:

Maps are not reliably farmable.
(Except ~1 potential week / ~year when they might be in Infinite Archive.) Solstice maps for example drop so rarely that a player might get fewer than 5 maps in 6+ months (even with Azandar’s passive.)

TP & Apocrypha maps are "cheap" ~3 years later, but still average ~5,000 - 10,000 on PC NA.
Likewise West Weald: 10-20k avg.
The newest zone? Nearly a year later and prices actually got worse with Eastern Solstice clogging up the loot tables (as I predicted waaaaay back on PTS). Solstice currently hovers ~40-50k.

Players go into PTS, gather info on all of the new stuff coming with an update (example) and generate community excitement. But RNG systems like this tell us it's pointless. It's smarter to wait and unsubscribe for 2+ years until the chapter is on sale and stuff we're excited about is reasonably obtainable. I might even omit Antiquities in future news posts until I know where they drop – and will ignore Map-exclusives entirely.

So I agree, RNG and lack of curation at 2/3 - 3/3 is the biggest problem. But the entire (boring, time-consuming, and wildly expensive) multi-step process of obtaining and using Maps can't be discounted. Survey responders and players responding to the OG thread have suggested good ideas to address it.
