Increase Ignore Accounts

ItsYourFuneral
Im currently at the "cap" for Ignoring accounts and I can no longer add anymore. Most of them have been spam/bot accounts with a few personal choices. However, why the cap on Ignoring? How or when would increasing the cap on Ignoring accounts be possible?

I'd say ingame since they've referred to spam/bot accounts, which imo rules out the forum.

Since my ignore list filled, I get kinda get excited to see the name that comes off the list whenever I add someone new. 99% of the time it's some form of the gold seller we all know and love. Every now and then though, it's a regular player who I ignored for whatever reason. But it hasn't bothered me yet, as the old gold seller bot accounts are long since banned and inactive. If it's an actual player that comes off, I just write it off as letting them out of their time-out (most of the time I can't even remember what they did to earn a place on the ignore list anyway).

Thus far I haven't had anyone so memorable come off the list that I would make darn sure they go right back on. But there are so few of those I could count them on one hand and still be able to hold a spoon.

I never keep anyone on my ignore list for more than a few hours to a day. The reason being that I have yet to run into the random player that irritated me enough to ignore them ever again.

You can add a note to every member of your ignore list (or friend list). That's why I know why I put every single person in that list on ignore and it's also why I remember who everyone in my >full< friendslist is.
This Bosmer was tortured to death. There is nothing left to be done.

Yep I try to leave a snarky note when possible. Addons print the note to remind me when I encounter them in group and seeing all there messages again. Why zos.

Sounds like you should adjust your criteria for putting people on ignore. That would solve your problem without ZOS having to do anything. Just remove everyone you can't remember why you put them on ignore in the first place and go from there.

Can you hover over the people in the list to see the last time they came into the game, like a guild list? If someone you've ignored hasn't come into the game for a year or two, that sounds to me like you could free up the space.

If we can't, then someone at ESO maybe could get a scrum going and Agile us up that functionality!
Been there, got the Molag Bal polymorph.

@Lucasl402 Once someone is on the Ignore list, they never come off. But I've only Ignored a handful of actual players, the vast majority are spam/bots and those are not in short supply. I see new ones weekly.

It's been over 7 years since I reached the maximum, and from time to time I free up space to welcome a new champion.

I have to do purges from time to time, but why should we have to remove whoever is the least racist, trollish, or hateful? I agree with Bolo, with a way to see if they were just a free trial account and haven't logged in for 6+ moths would be nice. Since putting zone chat on a different tab and using it way less, I notice the trolls less so that is an overall best option. I still run into them in groups from time to time.

I removed one from my ignore list as I had a bad experience with them over a year ago, turns out they were still harassing a year later. :D

    This, all of this.

Only person who was on my ignore list longer than a few days was someone i had to report to ZOS for breaking practically every rule in the CoC (as in, X-rated chat, actively encouraging people to go drive off a cliff, etc. etc. etc.). Otherwise, 24 hours usually gets the point across.
