Dodging Radiant Destruction

I know it has been talked about a lot of people dodging attack after attach with no dodge animation. But, now I am seeing dodge when I cast radiant destruction, a beam attack. Unless something has changed and I missed those patch notes, it is my understanding that beam attacks cannot be dodged. Am I missing something or is this a hack or glitch or what?

I believe they changed Radiant Destruction a few patches ago so that people could dodge it. It was a literal death sentence otherwise.

this, it was changed to be dodgeable after they redid how jesus beam worked (longer channel time, dmg turned into direct vs dot)

Stupidest change ever .... If it's locked on you shouldn't be able to dodge it , line of site and blocking should be enough,

Then again if your using beam at a point where it's doing a full channel (which I am guilty of) you're using it wrong . In PvP when used at the right moment it will hit big and insta kill .

Except the problem is that the damage used to ramp up massively once you reached execute range for the ability, which was around 50% HP. And this was before subclassing, so no insane defenses or significant speed buffs for everyone. Once you got someone down to like 65%, you could just spam beam until they melted.

And you might think that’s not such a big deal, just heal through it. And that could be the case…until two or three people started beaming you in the middle of a fight.

As for line of sight and blocking, I’ll remind you that Radiant Destruction is a Templar ability. You know what else is a Templar ability? Javelin, which can’t be blocked. Knock someone over, beam them. Rinse, repeat. Throw in Meteor for the lulz.

Yes but now the tick rate has been spread out (making it a nerf) and the damage threshold has been lowered, so you have to deal more damage to get the execute to work, which means it's less effective on good players who defend and heal and never let their health go below 70%. So making the beam dodgeable is another slap on top. Of course with subclassing damage people are able to burst you down to 20% quickly but still, that's an issue caused by subclassing.

In PvP it was used by every zergling, so the moment you go into open field you are pretty much dead. Any lag, HP drop and 3-4 beams on you -> dead. It is a good change in general but rough.
