There are different tiers to PS Plus, at different monthly pricing: Essential, Extra, and Premium. Which tiers is this March deal applicable to ? It was not stated cleary in the article.
Changes to PSN policy aside, free with PS Plus means free as long as you have an active subscription (“sub”), and until its fully removed from their shopfront.
If you stop any PS Plus sub, all previously PS Plus claimed games are locked, but can be unlocked again once a sub is active.
The wording “…. own it forever, for free” on the article shows a gap in understanding in how PSN Plus claimed games work.
But dont take my word for it (even with my 7 years of PS Plus sub on & off) - whoever worked on the article and PSN deal, please check with your official Playstation representative and ask them directly for clarification, especially if they did not disclose this to the team at ZOS.
