Hi Everyone. Before March begins, we wanted to provide an update on Daily Login Rewards. Starting March 1st, Daily Login Rewards will no longer be available and officially retired from ESO. The UI will remain visible (but empty) until the launch of Update 49 on March 9. This also means the Daily Login Reward web articles will be sunset as well.
Additionally, Weekly and Daily Endeavors will retire on March 2. Seals of Endeavor will remain a currency in-game and will be earnable through the Tamriel Tome starting on April 2. In the meantime, we’ll be offering a Golden Pursuit, starting on March 3, that allows you to continue earning Seals of Endeavor until the start of Season Zero on April 2.
The March Golden Pursuit is meant to ensure you don't miss out on Seals of Endeavor during this transition period between Weekly and Daily Endeavors sunsetting and the start of Season Zero. This Golden Pursuit is designed to deliver the same amount of Seals of Endeavor you would have received when completing Weekly and Daily Endeavors.
Thanks for your understanding, and we’ll share more details as we get closer to these updates.
A question about Seals of Endeavour... will their value remain more or less the same?
For example... will 16 000 Seals still be the standard for Radiant Apex mounts for example after the new system is introduced?

So what incentive will players have to login daily?

Old Free Daily/Weekly Endeavors =
New “Free” tome* for everyone!
*Pay $15 or $30 every few months get full rewards.
They are basically taking away an entire entirely free system to further monetize what is left of the player base.
When there were awesome daily login rewards in the past (cosmetics, crates, emotes, pets, etc.) everyone got them. Not just the people who paid extra.

I agree with most of what you wrote, but it is not clear this is correct. Turns out that what we saw was all there was on pts, but that's not reflective of what will be available live, so it's quite possible that everything will be previewable.twisttop138 wrote: »iirc you can't preview every item in the pass. That’s not much of a trade-off.SummersetCitizen wrote: »Old Free Daily Login Rewards +

Yes, but also the tradeoff is new content (and old ones eventually) being free.

Yes, but also the tradeoff is new content (and old ones eventually) being free.
Content this year (as previewed) is paltry compared to previous years. New zones have become “event” zones that are time limit limited. There’s no meaningful, permanent new content on the horizon.
Rather than making money on content people want to play, they’re partially taking away previously free content (dailies and endeavors) and funneling players into monetization opportunities with upgraded tomes.
I feel like this is very misleading. So what incentive will players have to login daily?
So while it is great to have folks log in every day, one of the main complaints we have heard about daily login rewards is that is feels bad to miss a day because life happens and have no way to get all the rewards. With the free Tamriel Tome, the goal is to make sure you still have ways to get useful and helpful items like with Daily Login Rewards, without the worry of missing set days.
No additional money is required for the free tomes, and they last longer than a month. I think there are plenty of fair criticisms of the tomes (the interface, the side monetization, the lack of current clarity about future content and value). But conceptually the free tome tier can certainly be a straight up improvement over the daily login system.SummersetCitizen wrote: »I feel like this is very misleading. So what incentive will players have to login daily?

Unless I’m mistaken, the “free” tome will still be time limited. The only way to ensure it is not is to pay $15 or $30.
The best rewards for daily logins were not at the end of the month. They were often on the 14th or the 21st after two or three weeks of logging in. The logins didn’t even need to be in sequential order. This provided flexibility to miss a week or two while still obtaining a prized reward. No additional money was required.

There isn't one.
The news stuff coming seems to be focused on guilds and players who group. (Night Market)
The challenges for solo players are low-paying, with very few paying at the level of group players.
The whole thing is disappointing.
