Emojis in ESO Chat: why or why not?

Since there are real emotes in the game, probably not. I think it would complicate the text chat.
If we had to have them, it would be funny if they looked like Z'maja and other Eso characters

All of the potential complaints you mentioned are ones I'd have as well. I don't want to see a bunch of graphics in chat. I don't want to see them popping up over characters' heads. I just don't. There's already a load of stuff in the game, especially regarding unnecessarily flashy mounts and costumes, that break immersion massively. These would just add to that.

Well, OP wrote that there should be an option to disable emojis. Which would be the thing I'd do immediately because I really dislike little pictures cluttering the screen when I'm trying to focus on the actual game.

Agree. Enough junk in zone chat as it is. I particularly enjoy the scammers selling things "cheap" that are cheaper in guild stores. lol.

They have them in BDO and they even had emoji packs. They are super garish. I don’t trust the, not to do that here as they love selling loud things in the cash shop.

A lot of conversations happen where the only response is an emoji. In that case there are no context clues.

I also wouldn’t want to read “such and such emoji” all the time. Seeing just that word would annoy me as though the word was being typed out. I also don’t want to see random lines or squiggles regularly as notice there was some random emoji there.

The ONLY way I'd be fine with this is with a toggle so I could turn it off. I 100% wouldn't want to see whole messages of nothing but random emojis.

And in regards to using the Emote channel for them, please no lol. As someone who RPs, that would just give people more ways to troll us. We already deal with things like mud balls/pies/crows, people spamming bright or otherwose obnoxious Skills, aggroing NPCs and running them around to bump into people and break emotes, people spamming the chat, and so on, so relegating a thing like this to the channel most RPers use for RPing would be...less than ideal.
