It is in my belief that Shielders are not acknowledged by the game, simply because not only are there are no medals for Shielding a player, it also not only doesn't count towards healing stats, and actively REDUCES enemy Damage stats, skewing the scoreboard massively into looking like nobody did anything all match.

In this match, I end up absorbing around 4 million damage across all three rounds. The issue? No medals since I'm "shielding too much", so we lose round 1.
Round 2, our Healer farms more medals than the enemy healer and we win round 2...
If our healer hadn't drowned themselves in the water in Round 3, we could have easily farmed thousands of medals to "win" the match...
In my opinion, actively taking more damage to farm medals to win a tiebreaker is not competitive gameplay, and neither is having more than one support on a team.
Personally, I believe the solution is to reduce healing medals for "crit heals" by a factor of 10, indeed, the Help section of the game literally says it should only be 10 medals for a Critical Heal Medal! If this were the case, then the enemy team would have won by merit of having 3 DPS, and this weird game of "damage chicken" would never have even been considered
Also, Health scaling AoE shields should honestly cease to exist or scale off of the receiving Player only, 20k shields every 2 seconds is nearly impossible to break through unless the DPS are coordinated in their attack...
