I only ask out of concern that if individual ticket progress threads are permitted then the front page of the forum could become dominated by them. Adding a request for an outstanding ticket to be checked as part of an existing thread on the issue is another matter.
How quickly a ticket is dealt with depends on how important the issue is (and whether it's actually feedback or a bug report for which tickets are inappropriate), and it's not unusual for an initial automated response to be missed or not replied to.
Moreover, it is well known that if you attempt to escalate a ticket by submitting another ticket then it goes to the back of the queue.2 -
