I personally think it would be an awesome house, especially if you could build on top of it as well.

I don’t think Vivec would let you do that.

They do turn it into a prison at some point though.

How about a compromise: They make it a prison now and the player character can get a cozy little cell? :p

Hmmm you MAY want to take a closer at look at the lore around it before you decide to live in there lol One legend was that Sheogorath tricked Baar Dau (the moon in question) to fall down and crash into the city. BUTTTTTT there is another one where it is sorta... Vivec's... own turd... Yeah im not joking. He passed it out of him while him and Molag Bal were um... getting busy. The magical divine turd then gained sentience and tried to destroy the city.

Lie Rock was born of Vivec's Second Aperture and was thrown out of the Pomegranate Banquet by a member of the Sweeps, another forgotten guild. The Sweep did not take it for the monster that it was and so he did not expect it to fly from his hand and into the heavens.

So yes, it could be a divine body tricked by Sheogorath, or it could be a giant Vivec turd. I personally will not be taking any chances and will not live in a poop house...

This is what drove me nuts. They could've dismantled the thing piece by piece until nothing was left (as they removed bits of it when they carved out the prison). Even after Vivec disappeared, they still had some time to do this, but didn't.

I think the asteroid is bigger in universe, so destroying it might not be as possible.

One of the common Temple interpretations is that it was an egg. In Dunmer mythology, Vivec is refered to as the "magic hermaphrodite" and also as the "Mother-Father" of his monstrous children (he has born several of them). Also, in his origin myth, that relates him to all kinds of different beings and deities, he has some relation to the dreugh, which are egg-laying creatures.
